It's not much more than an hour to about anything you want to see or do in Orlando or surrounding areas.The rooms were comfortable. The resturant was real Mexican and very good food. The folks were great, from the cleaning gals to the folks at the front desk. It was a great place to be in the center of things for Bike week! We got in late the first night only to find cocaroaches everywhere, bugs in the bed. Even though the hotel is old, it does NOT have to be dirty or musty smelling. As far as space to put your luggage, that was minimal.They did have a coffee pot and microwave which I would not use. They were not clean. Iron and ironing board.Iron did not work,lights were burned out. The sad part is the location was great to get to Datona Speedway.Was not the Best Value by any means. The tubs in both rooms were dirty! The rooms reaked of MOLD!!! Which I am allergeric to. The TV remote did not work, there were no vending machines anywhere on property. The parking lot had people drinking beer out there. The furnitaure was old and gross looking. you could not adjust the air, it had only on and off. The faucet dripped, alot!!! We were on the beach everyday (short drive) and did not pay the right on the beach prices.The rooms are big and very comfortable! My husband and I were very pleased it was very clean. I LOVED the mexican restaurant right in their lobby.. great margaritas! The check in girl was very friendly and we were in the room in about 3 min. The pool is very clean. I truly enjoyed our stay. Wasn't crazy about the resturant, had a phone in room but it didn't work, tried using phone in room next to me but theirs didn't work either. Had a small frig in room but couldn't figure out why it worked sometimes and not others until the day I left, they had it plugged into a wall plug that was hooked to the light switch so everytime I turned out the lights it turned off the frig. Deb, Fort Myers, FL, 2006-02-20 This hotel by far was the most disgusting hotel I have ever encountered!!!! From the moment that we arrived, it was a nightmare. It took almost 30 minutes for the staff to check us in as they were most inexperienced and scatter brained. Finally got to the room and lo and behold, the bed was not made, there was a phone book on the bed with a phone number on it and it looked like someone had been sleeping in my bed. They had to move us to another room with came equipped with it's own bug family. It was so nasty. Carpets were dirty, the shower head fell off and had to be replaced, the sink was yellow with dirt, the iron did not work, the refrigerator was moldy, most of the lights in the room did not work, the curtains were filthy, the air conditioner did not work, the hair dryer did not work, the phone did not work, the room staff could not speak English, the grounds were dirty and we were met by a policeman who was looking for a dispute that someone had just called in. We did not even sleep under the covers. We went to the local store and bought Clorox, Lysol, rubber gloves, candles and paper towels to clean the bathroom. We were a party of 6 women with 2 rooms and felt very unsafe. I would not recommend this place to anyone for any reason. Unbelievable!!! |
