Universal is a short drive. Maybe 2 minutes. Mini golf is right across the parking lot. Cici's Pizza, Denny's and inexpensive gift shope are short walks down and across the street.

They charge and additional $5 per might for resort fee and room safe. The hotel and staff was fine. It is an older hotel and needs a little TLC. We had mold along the wallpaper border in our room and the tub faucet dripped the entire time. Other than that, the price we paid and the location made it worthwhile. I requested extra towels because we had four people in the room and only three towels and the towels were brought within 5 minutes. I would stay again. It was close to dining, shopping and mini golf. We walked to most of those places because they were so close.

good food places everywhere

This hotel's location was excellent, and it was a great deal. You might think cause it's so cheap that it isn't very nice. Its no five star, but it gets the job done.

If it looks too good to be true, it is!

No towels, TV didn't work, paint peeling off walls, coat/towel racks falling off walls, a.c. blowing a gale right at bed, shower head resembled standing under a garden hose. A hotel that has seen better days. Staff tried to be accomodating, but they were working against all odds. The price seemed too good to be true...it was. We checked out after one night, and happily paid 30/nite more to be comfortable.

Universal is a 5 minute drive

Orlando Grande Hotel might have been nice in previous years, but it is starting to show it's age. It could use some refurbishment. It is in a very convient location for theme parks and several restaurants are within walking distance and the pricing is reasonable.

Really good restaurants on either side of the hotel and just down the street. There is frequent bus service if you preferred not to drive.

Everything you need is within walking distance. Certain popular Orlando attractions, first rate restaurants, shopping, car rental.

The Orlando Grand Hotel and Suites on International Drive in Orlando, was a great value. The location was in the heart of all Orlando's attractions. The condition of the hotel was not the best, but the rooms were clean and adequate. The staff were perfectly accommodating, and remembered the room that I liked at a prior check-in, and saved that room for me when I checked in again a week later. Microwave, fridge, iron and ironing board were all included in the room, as well as free internet in the rooms close to the reception area. A great deal if you aren't too fussy about perfect conditions. Did I mention you receive a free cocktail at their bar?

I've stayed in nicer hostels...

Cici's pizza buffet across the street - good eats & makes a good landmark to find the place

Where to start? The toilet ran all night - I finally got up & turned it off at the valve... walls were peeling & overall the place had a shabby feel. 2 elevators - one didn't work. The one that did was S-L-O-W. I'll bet this place was really nice 15 years ago... but it desperately needs help. On the plus side, they did give me an early check in, there's loads of eating in the area, and it's VERY convenient to most of what the area has to offer. As an FYI to management - choose a better font on the road sign - I drove past it 2x before I actually could read it!

In the middle of the action

The Orlando Grand Hotel & Suites is located in the middle of Universal Studios and the Walt Disney Parks.

Excellent service and great overall for the price. Very close to theme parks and a lot of dining options.

Not accomidating

They did not give us any face cloths or hand towels and not enough bath towels. Next day when cleaned the room gave us no towels at all and even took the used soap. Their so called restaurant was a very small Deli and was not open for use. Locked us out of room before time when we returned from breakfast becaus their clock was 20 minutes fast. They never came to us we always had to go to the desk. The hotle roomos you went throught the lobby, out sice pass the pool, pass the game room and then the elevator. Other people there were complaining that the paid for heat the night before and did not receive heat and they were vey cold. It was down to 30 degrees at night when we were there. It is an old, run down, and smelly place.
