Score 2 out of 5 Good location, poor amenities Anonymous It's located behind Congo River (mini putt) off of International Drive, not right on the main street. The Super 8 Motel Orlando/Near Universal is in a prime location, but very poor amenities. Our main light, lock, alarm clock and remote did not work. The fenced in pool looked nice, but was located in the middle of the parking lot. There were lots of restaurants and shops around as well as mini-putt and other attractions. Overall, we would not return to that hotel. Score 2 out of 5 Proximity to Disney World Anonymous, 2006-02-20 It is near Disney World. My primary reason for staying here was to find a low cost place close to Disney World. I realized it was high season for Disney World, so I was expecting to pay a higher price, even for a low-cost place. I was not given clear info about the shuttle transportation available to get to the theme park, and therefore almost risked having to drive there myself, which I did not want to do. I only had one day in Orlando. The main thing I saw, having stayed in many hotels and motels over the years, was, that the bathroom floor was not washed. It had muddy footprints when I came into the room, and I figured it was just an oversight, and that it would be cleaned up while I was in Disney World the next day. When I returned from the Park, it still had not been washed. Score 2 out of 5 No Room at the Inn! Jon, Orlando, FL, 2005-10-31 If you stay here just sleep there if you can! spend as little time there as possible and if you are on the back side of the hotel lock your doors very little lighting! The Super 8 Universal was a nightmare from the get go! They gave away our room and were overbooked! They had to scrounge up a room and clean it. When they said it was ready the room card still wouldn't work. So that meant 2 extra trips up stairs with luggage, because trust me you won't want to leave your family out on the back side of this hotel! So they finally got it right and went to bed, but woke up to the downstairs room throwing what sounded like the furniture and yelling! Went back to sleep then at 3 in the morning people were sitting outside the door talking for an hour. Well woke up and went downstairs for the Super Start Deluxe Cont. Breakfast sounds great doesn't it? Ok it was in a hotel room with 2 tables and 4 chairs that's it! The deluxe breakfast was those pinwheel things and that was it! Then the maid came by and knocked 1 time and came in and we said no thanks but is there any towels! no towels! i'm not joking! No problem the next night but when we went to check out i wanted the name and address of the management company who owned the hotel to complain, they said they did not have anything with the address on it. Needless to say i will never saty here again nor would i reccomend this hotel to anyone! But it was on International Drive and suprisingly it didn't smell as most Orlando hotels do! Score 1 out of 5 Stay away Anonymous, Buffalo, NY, 2005-08-18 The hotel is not too far from theme parks and is close to restaurantsOur first indication of problems with this hotel was the rat in the parking lot. The next was the check in. Check in is done through a plexiglass window. The clerk slides the key under the glass. The next problem was that the hot water for the shower had been turned off. The sink had hot water. the shower did not. We stayed only one night before staying at a Marriott resort. My advice is do not stay here. Score 2 out of 5 Review Anonymous, 2005-08-14 Plenty of eating places and things to do nearby.Score 5 out of 5 Great staff Dana, Fort Myers, FL, 2005-07-16 The check-in process was a breeze. The people were very helpful in locating what we were looking for. The room was comfortable. I think they were still working with the renovations but that was ok. We would stay there again. The pool was under construction. There were no other amenities. Huge Spiders in the room. The clerk in the PM shift did not answer the phone after 10 PM. We were lost and had no way to communicate w/the hotel. |
