Most recent user reviewsScore 2 out of 5 My review of Riu Florida Beach Hotel Anonymous, Charlotte, NC Awful rooms, had a musty smell to them and they wer not very clean. Sheets and blankets looked dirty. Pool area was nice and staff was friendly enough. location was close to South Beach, a long walk or $10 cab ride, but this part of Miami Beach was pretty run down. Score 4 out of 5 Ideal weekend location to relax Katrina More a hotel for relaxation - right on beach - good poolWas pleasantly surprised to find on arrival that I had stayed at this hotel before - a one night stay prior to cruise. Exactly the same thing happened - we were a late arrival 7.30pm and again had to wait for our room for just over thirty minutes - we were given a drink at the bar. The room on the 10th floor was excellent - a side view of the ocean - excellent bathroom - large rooms with comfortable beds. Needs better options for dining - buffet style restaurant is ok - but no real other options. Could not get a cup of coffee until restaurant opened at 7.00am and when it was closed you couldn't even buy one However all in all would definately stay again Score 5 out of 5 Family friendly and cosy Anonymous, New York, NY Try the drinks from the bar - very tasty! The hotel was very nice; staff friendly and polite; we liked the pool and the bar where we would frequently enjoy fresh juices and drinks. The beach was in front of the hotel, very clean and nice. The location of the hotel was nice - not far away from Lincoln Street and Espana way - in any event - there's taxis everywhere and the bus stop is one street down from the hotel. Score 5 out of 5 Great Place to Stay Elena, 2007-03-05 We enjoyed our stay at the Riu. The staff was friendly, the food good, and the pool fantastic! Score 2 out of 5 If your not spending much time in the room!!! Anonymous, 2007-02-18 The Spanish food restaurant a block away was great! The Riu Florida Beach Hotel was okay. It just so happened that at the time I was there, there was construction going on the floor above me which began NO FAIL every morning at 6am. So much for getting any rest on this vacation. It made for a very unpleasant stay!! Score 5 out of 5 comfortable, convenient kym, Boston, MA, 2006-12-11 The hotel should include breakfast.or at least coffee/tea.We had a great experience at the Riu. It was a great location and a good value. The only issue was that the staff that clean up the bottles and things in the lounge did so too early in the morning(throwing away bottles/cans into dumpsters at 6am) It was nice to be right on the boardwalk and very conveniently located for shopping and sight seeing. Score 5 out of 5 beautiful hotel MARGARET, Newark, NJ, 2006-10-24 The Riu Hotel was wonderful. The pool area was comfortable, well attended and the beach was just a few steps away. Everyone was very helpful, the room was spacious. I was sad to leave, and would visit there again! The location was perfect - very close to south beach (15-20 minute walk on the beach) but not in the middle of overcrowded areas). The hotel staff was wonderful during check in as well as later when I asked for assistance. The pool area was wonderful, dining options abundant, and beach access fabulous. We were able to walk right outside to the ocean and also walk along a boardwalk to explore all of the area. This was a real plus for us. There was also a fitness center, gift shop, and beautfiul lobby that we sat in and enjoyed. The downside of this hotel seemed to be the rooms themselves. The beds were hard and the room didn't have much style to speak of. Our keys only worked half of the time and the wait for valet (12 a night) was usually 15 minutes (although the valet attendents were honest - telling you it would be ten or fifteen minutes). Overall, this wasn't bad for us since we spent most of our time exploring the area, the beaches, and even were pleased to sit in the lobby and people watch while waiting for the valet! I would be happy to stay at this hotel again - but I imagine it's not for everyone! |
