The rooms were reasonable nothing fancy if that's what you are looking for. They don't have much of a hotel feel, but that can be a good thing. Unfortunately, we had to switch rooms because the bathroom needed some major maintenance. Our new room was so much nicer than our previous one. They come with full kitchens and small but nice bathrooms. The television are rather small, but I doubt anyone will be watching it while in South Beach (: Score 4 out of 5 Great location no big complaints Anonymous, Baltimore, MD, 2007-02-28 Versace's mansion is right next door. One block down is a restaurant called cheese burger which has great burgers and the clevlander is a block away which I liked a lot.I've read some bad comments about this hotel and went there expecting the worst and ended up being relieved. There were no bugs, no holes in the walls, the sheets were clean, and everything seemed to work. The a/c wasn't great, but it's miami and a ptac wall unit only does so much. I would stay here again unless I found this good of a deal for another place, maybe one with a balcony. Score 4 out of 5 Great location Anonymous, 2007-02-22 One block from the beach. You don't need to rent a car for your stay. The Tudor in Miami Beach has a great location. One block from the main part of south beach and easy walking distance to bars and restaurants. The condition of the room needed some attentiion. The main thing I noticed was the refrigerator didn't work and its' door was falling off. The room was pretty small. It was pretty inexpensive compared to other hotels in the area but definitely was not a high class hotel. Score 3 out of 5 My review of Tudor Hotel and Suites Anonymous, 2007-02-10 The beach is right around the corner and is beautifulthe staff there was not the most pleasant. everyone that we encountered demanded a tip before we would even have the chance to open our wallets. and when we had given them a few bucks to store our luggage since our room wasnt ready they demended more saying "what thats it!" we had to walk around in our long pants and shirts that we arrived from new york in for most of the day because our room wasnt ready. we missed a good portion of the beach day. Score 1 out of 5 not very friendly Anonymous, 2007-02-09 The location is excellent, but the hotel rooms should be cleaner Score 4 out of 5 Good for the money Anonymous, Albany, NY, 2006-12-10 Tudor is 1 block from the beach, 1 block from Ocean Dr. (fine + clubs) and Washington Ave. (trendy clubs). A $5 cab will get you to Lincoln Rd or take a 15 min., 6 block, walk to Lincoln or Espanola. Nearby shopping 2 blocks down on Collins Rd. Buses run on Washington for $1.50 into downtown and transfer to other parts of the city.Tudor is located in the heart of S. Beach, right around the corner from Versace's mansion. The nightly rate reflects this hotels no frills amenities. However, the service is excellent. The staff is very friendly and accomodating. They stored our luggage for 3 hours after we checked out. Now that's convenient! I have stayed at the hotel in Dec. 2005 and more recently in Dec. 2006. There have been some noticable changes. First, a new, trendy, restaurant in the lobby and on the patio. They also have a full bar w/ reasonably priced cocktails. Secondly, they have annexed the hotel next door. My room was in the annexed building and was in subpar condition. The furniture was weathered and the paint had seen better days. The room had a slightly funky, unfresh odor. Besides cosmetics, the room was clean. To their credit, it appeared as though this building was very recently acquired and they appeared to be in the process of bringing it up to speed w/ the original Tudor building. Aside from the tattered room furnishings, the hotel was pleasant. I will continue to patronize and urge others to do so. This by far was the worst hotel I ever stayed in. The room would have been ok, but the smell I couldn't deal with, on top of that water was running from behind a locked door. Where there's water there's bugs. Score 1 out of 5 Review Jacob, Columbus, OH, 2006-06-23 The lincoln road its a great place for a walk and shopping. Its also well recommended to dinner or take some drinks.Score 2 out of 5 Not Good Kysha, Providence, RI, 2006-05-30 The beach is not even 5 minutes away. Shopping across the street. Club next block over. This hotel had to pool or hot tub. The room was small not that clean, shower needs work. When we got to our room the tv didn't work we had to wait to get it fix. Then certain channels kept going out. The best part of staying there is that your in the middle of everything and the beach is right there. But i would rather try another hotel on Collins then go back there until I was staying in the penthouse suite for the same price. |
