old out-dated

tori, New Orleans, LA, 2007-02-12

i was expecting a more high quality room foe the amount of money i paid. the rooms furniture, bed and sheets where very out-dated. the tv was very small. the hotel staff made reservations for me and nobody ever showed up.just overall an old ruin down building, it was dark in the lobby and looked closed down. the hot tubs by the pool was even cold.

A good hotel

marc, Newark, NJ, 2006-10-21

With the aid of a short taxi ride, there was plenty to see & do. The hotel itself is on the beach, but the night life was a number of blocks away. Taxi`s were numerous & always avaliable, This was really not a big concern

This hotel was fun to stay at. However I am a man that is used to room service, This was not an option. In the am just to get 1 cup of coffee and a cup of tea it cost me 6 dollars. This fact & the fact that I had to walk 3 blocks at 11pm for a snack upset me. However the hotel staff & pool were a pleasure.

The hotel needs to improve its customer service

Anonymous, 2006-10-16

The hotel location is unbeatable. A few yards from the beach and a very short walk to Lincoln Road Mall.

My check-in was great. However as soon as I entered my room and started changing my clothes, a cleaning lady came into my room, without even bothering to knock the door. I was not fully dressed. Later that day, I wanted to take a shower, and the shower did not work. Called the front desk, the manager was not expedient enough to solve my problems, and he said I was being rude to him instead of apologizing for giving me a room with no working shower!! That night, my magnetic key was not working, so I had to go downstairs and have it reprogrammed. Having said all that, the day I was leaving, I needed a 5pm late check out, and at first they didn't give it to me, but later the same manager that I had a problem with the first day did allow me to stay until my desired time. Still, I don't think I would recommend the hotel. It definitively needs to improve its relations with the guests.

Totally Dissatisfied

Darren, 2006-07-10

The Shelborne Beach Resort was definitely a low class hotel. I would have never stayed at this hotel it was unclean, the rooms were rinky, the hotel itself was accommodating but I would never stay in this hotel again. The stinge in the room that I stayed in was horrible. The stickiness of the room as if the room had not been aired in years.

Friendly hotel staff

Anonymous, New York, NY, 2006-06-04

If you're in the mood to party, there are multiple clubs and lounges within walking distance.

When arriving at the hotel, I got a little ill but the hotel staff made me feel welcome and were very comforting and helpful.

Close to everything you will need

lydia, New York, NY, 2006-05-29

Depending on where you want to go, the best spots are a longer walk. But there is something near by, as a matter of fact right in the hotel!

HOtel is located in a very convenient area. SHopping, dining and night life, not to mention the beach is very close. The pool is great and the whirpool adds to the experience. THe hotel staff was helpful and housekeeping were quick and thorough. It was a easy trouble free stay

Not Good

Anonymous, Boston, MA, 2006-05-28

Me and my 3 other of my firends stayed at this hotel we were very unhappy the room was small to begin with and then it had a moldy smell to it. then when we asked for more towels they gave us a hard time. then we asked for more washclothes and we were told that they could only give us one wash cloth for 4 woman are you kidding me. When i called to confirm our room and asked if they had anything going on at the hotel for that weekend they told me yes. In fact they had nothing and they closed the pool at 5pm what kind of BS is that... I will never stay at this hotel ever again

Not Again

Oscar, Los Angeles, CA, 2006-04-17

About less than a mile down there is a place called scooter city check it out and rent a scooter you ride it for 24 hours for only $65.

This hotel was worth what I paid for it... it's not to far from where all the action is, but it's not to close either. The service was horrible we had taken some clothes for dry cleaning one night and the next day when we went to pick them up, they said they didn't come in... so the day after that we went back and it turned out they had completly forgotten about our clothes. No one tried to help or was nice. The only person who I liked was the hotel bartender, she was the best. But even she was quitting. Try to stay somewhere closer and nicer, even if it costs more.

Great vacation get away

Solomon, Springfield, IL, 2006-04-16

Take time to walk to Ocean dr. to eat there are some nice places there.

The Shelborne Beach Resort could have not been a better place to stay. We had a problem with our room and they took care of us by moveing to a different room. I would go back to this hotel any time and enjoy it just the same.

Perfect for the WMC

Anonymous, New York, NY, 2006-03-27

We were there for the WMC and the pool parties couldn't have been better. We were able to access most of the parties at no charge up until a certain time, say 5:00 pm. If you left and wanted to come back you would have to pay. I personnally don't feel it is right but we made sure we had everything we needed before 5. The room was comfortable for the most part and the bathroom was ok. The tub was dripping and it wouldn't stop. We really didn't spend much time in the room but overall it was nice.
