Most recent user reviewsScore 4 out of 5 Just Fine Anonymous Great to shop & dine on Lincoln street just 11 blocks away (a few minutes).I'd recommend this hotel as it is away from the loud and hip hop south beach area that goes all night, however, close enough to walk and enjoy the energy of south beach when you wish. The hotel staff was good, the room itself was small but comfortable, although I'm not a fan of retro colours and furnishings. The bathroom while clean had been fixed with some non matching tiles and had a gash in the door. The blinds in the washroom and room were not good (a little wrecked, however provided coverage. The bed was most comfortable and helped overcome all else. The pool was much better once the pool service showed up to clean it up. The hotel cat was most friendly and provided a home feeling. The hotel is surrounded by some properties that need fixing up - not unique to this area. All in all just fine - a great want to enjoy South Beach without being in the middle of it place. Score 4 out of 5 Nice place and nice staff Anonymous, Seattle, WA, 2007-02-12 David's Cafe at 1058 Collins Ave. at 11th St. serves cheap tasty Cuban meals. The problem with the hotel, and it may not be a problem for everyone or in every season, was parking. The on-the-street parking near the hotel was problematic. Score 5 out of 5 Mellow Miami Beach Anonymous, Burlington, VT, 2006-12-15 Tropical Cafe - B,L DMy stay was pleasant. Staff were extra helpful at all hours and explained everything clearly and politely. No pressure sort of place. Nice that it's so close to the beach and the Tropical Cafe on Collins which had great breakfasts and delicious coffee. Hotel Continental breakfast is just coffee and donuts, kind of lame. Room was fine, bed was fantastic, ask for a room on the garden side if you like quiet. Bathroom was old school and a bit small but functional, shower was great. I'd stay here again and hopefuly get to eat at what I hear is a very good restuarant. Score 3 out of 5 very chill Anonymous, 2006-11-26 it was ok, nothing special, the room was comfortable except bathroom was too small. the staff was great, no noise at night Score 5 out of 5 quiet and cool Andrea, 2006-10-02 When you walk to the beach you will see a couple of small supermarketsin Collins Ave, which are open till late. They sell long distance calling cards. The Indian Creek Hotel is lovely. Nicely decorated, including its garden, with friendly staff. It is located in a quiet zone, very close to the beach, at an easy walking distance from Lincoln Road. But the best of it is its restaurant. I stayed 2 nights and I ate boths nights there, having the option of going somewhere else. You can eat in the garden, close to a pretty large swimwing pool (very comfortable long chairs). It's weakest point is the breakfast. And it was not available on Monday morning, for a reason I do not know. Score 4 out of 5 It is NOT Hotel!! Anonymous, 2006-08-24 This is a inn... Score 5 out of 5 Best Hotel on the Planet Pamela, 2006-07-29 The hotel has a wonderful restaurant with unbelievably good prices considering the quality of food but they don't serve a full breakfast. A few blocks away you can get great coffee, gelato and croissants at Bacio and there's also a cafe across the street from the hotel.I love this hotel. Coming from a New Yorker who has stayed at many hotels and B&Bs, that's saying a lot. I was in Miami to enjoy watching my daughter at Miami City Ballet and the beach so I had no interest in the bar hopping, plastic crowd. I wanted a hotel that was clean, comfortable, close to the beach, close to the ballet school, equipped with a beautiful, clean pool, a GOOD restaurant, and preferably one that looked unique as opposed to looking like a windblown highrise of bad taste. The Indian Creek Hotel surpassed my expectations. It was just a block to the beach, a couple of blocks to the ballet and Lincoln Road activities and more importantly, it was immaculate while at the same it had charm and wonderful service. The staff was attentive, professional and courteous. They got to know their guests and they volunteered to assist with just about everything. I never had to wait for anything. The restaurant was fabulous. The service was impeccable and the food was divine. The pool was landscaped so the view was of trees and flowers and the sky, not a parking lot or highrises. The restaurant had indoor dining as well as outdoor dining in the adjacent courtyard. The rooms had wonderful floors that were not carpeted and the beds were way comfy and the closets huge. My bathroom didn't have any mold - it was spotless! The hotel has been beautifully restored and has wonderful furniture and an interesting lobby with artifacts from it's heyday in the 30s. I will definitely stay there again. It's wonderful right down to the door key on the footlong alligators! Score 5 out of 5 Great getaway quieter than on South Beach Anonymous, Nashville, TN, 2006-07-02 Quickest way to South Beach is to catch the bus right outside hotel for $1.50. About 5 minutes ride (in the a/c!) & you're in the heart of the action of SOBE.Wonderful renovated Art Deco boutique hotel in nice Miami Beach location-just across the street from the beach. It's away from the crowds & noise in South Beach, yet still close enough to see it all. In-house restaurant was very good, but not inexpensive. No other real restaurants close though - have to hoof it or go into South Beach. Lovely decor & pool was fabulous. Staff was friendly enough. Downside was no available breakfast or coffee & small bathrooms. Great value for the money & quiet & I would definitely stay there again! Score 5 out of 5 Very Good Restoration of Art Deco Property Julie, Orlando, FL, 2006-06-26 This hotel is located a few blocks from Ocean Drive and Collins Ave which is in the heart of the Art Deco district. There are many places to dine and shop and alot of great architecture to see. South Beach is a great area with lots to do and see. This is one of the best examples of restoration of an Art Deco property. The staff was very friendly and the restuarant was excellent. The chef prepared gourmet meals that were so delicious. The garden restuarant was so pretty and refreshing. I would stay there again.I look forward to returning there again. Score 5 out of 5 Very Quaint Rita, Nashville, TN, 2006-05-31 We really liked this little hotel, especially the outdoor cafe. The service was great, and the food was outstanding. We also found the pool area to be very nice. They only serve beer and wine at the pool, however; it would have been nice to have been able to have a cool alcoholic drink. The staff at the hotel were very friendly and helpful. The bed was confortable and the rooms very clean. It was only a very short walk from the hotel to the beach, however, a far walk to the most happening area of the beach and shopping. However, you could easily catch a bus or take a long walk to get to it. I would definitely stay at this hotel again. |
