We found the hotel to be very clean and satisfactory. Would like to commend the staff, very helpful and friendly especially the night manager, we recieved alot of valuable first time tourist information. Also, it is a short walk to Lincoln Road, which is where all the trendy south beach stores are!The Essex House was the trendiest and cleanest hotel I have ever stayed at! It was at a GREAT location and the pool at the hotel was so clean! It is a block from the beach and near all of the best night clubs and shopping! When I go back to South Beach, I am staying at the Essex House again! I would reccomend this hotel to anyone! Although staff and location was great I would not stay there again. The carpet needed to be clean throughout the hotel. The elevator only held three people and the rooms were small. I never been to south beach before so I dont know if that is what most of the hotels are like are not. The room was bare and the bathroom was small. The location was wonderful everything was near unless u wanted to go places like the zoo or something. We didnt get a rental until our last few days there. The beach was behind the hotel and they offered a breakfast and a light lunch. Plus there are plenty of restraunts to chose from on the same street and behind the hotel.
