Most recent user reviewsScore 5 out of 5 Clean & Convenient Anonymous, Orlando, FL The location was great for visiting South Beach. It was walking distance to most of South Beach. The room was clean and sizeable. Score 5 out of 5 Nice basic hotel Anonymous, 2006-07-01 get out and exploreThe hotel was clean, staff friendly and accomdating. Rooms are small but adequate for short stays. Score 4 out of 5 Not what I expected Anonymous, Houston, TX, 2006-04-16 When I arrived at the hotel I had to double check with the cab driver to make sure he hadn't taken me to the wrong Crest. The check in was nice and went smoothly. Although getting on the elevator was like at trip back on time. It was barely big enough for my 6'2" frame and a large suiter case. At the second floor I had to step down 4 inches from the elevator but I guess that is better than having to step up. New wood flooring of the non-secured type was a bit noisy as I preceeded down the hallway. When I got to room it was small, with just the bare essentials. The lamp was the old college goose-neck style with a white cone-shaped head. The AC was good as was the mattress so I guess you just want to chill and sleep it was Okay. The bathroom was clean but again very small as was the tub/shower. There was no Ice buckets in the room and you had to go to the basement to get ice from a community machine when everyone and their brother handled the scoop. Not the cleanest way to manage that. The location was good, just a block from Lincoln. Score 2 out of 5 I guess you get what you pay for. Anonymous, Denver, CO, 2006-02-03 Spend the extra money and stay someplace nicer.I guess you get what you pay for. The area is neither the worst or best section of South Beach. The ocean and upscale hotels are 2 blocks to the east, and Washington Street with its tatoo parlors and strip clubs is 2 streets to the west. The hotel appears to have been built around 1930 and not updated since. Although I stayed in a superior double, the room was not a suite nor superior. The mattress and pillows were very marginal. I don't know how they can call it a suite. It din't even have a refrigerator, which I needed to store some medication. The hotel staff said they couldn't help with that either. All in all, it was a disappointment. Score 5 out of 5 The Crest is the Best Timothy, Montgomery, AL, 2005-11-27 The Crest is a short walk to Nexxt, a restaurant that serves huge portions. The Crest is a boutique hotel on a quiet side street in South Beach that is only two blocks from the beach and just a few steps from Lincoln Road, which has the best people-watching and dining in the area. The staff is always friendly and courteous, and the rooms are clean, quiet and well-appointed. If you have a car, there is a parking lot across the street. I have stayed at The Crest several times and find it an excellent value. |
