Most recent user reviewsScore 1 out of 5 Terrible ROBERT, Knoxville, TN The whole experience was a sham. Virtually no parking - even though they advertise parking - they only have about 5 spaces (in the circle drive in front of the hotel) pathetic. The restaurant was never open. The internet access is only in the lobby. Pathetic. The service staff stole a new bracelet and necklace set my wife bought the night before. Left the paper, the receipt, and the bag, and took the jewelry. The front desk staff were rude and unhelpful. The tv had a few local channels, but nothing else. I would never stay here again. Also the water leaking around the windows had deposit growing like in a cave . Score 1 out of 5 Expect the maintenance closet Anonymous, 2007-03-08 The best thing about this hotel is that it is located in South Beach and you can leave to go somewhere fun to forget about the fact that you are staying in a maintenance closet. This was the worst hotel we have ever stayed at and we give it our lowest evaluation. This is based on several factors. The hotel staff was very unfriendly and seemed to not care very much about our needs. Second they put us in an uninhabitable room in which the bathroom faucet did not work. Also, there was no bible, no phone book, no paper, no pen, and no clock in the room. It was also dirty and small with only a twin bed in the room. When we complained about this to the staff they did nothing to accomodate us. The overall theme of the hotel was we don't care. They didn't care that we had no faucet water in our sink, that our room was dirty and appeared to be a maintenance closet, etc. Also, when we went to the concierge out front of the hotel and asked for a cab he pointed and told us to go to the corner. Lastly, this hotel is a ghostown--don't expect much to be going on. The pool closes at 8pm and the bar closed at 10pm. If you stay at this hotel, do so at your own risk and expect substandard rooms and service. Score 4 out of 5 Typical South Beach Anonymous, 2007-03-03 Try the food instead down on Ocean Ave. . .about the same price and much better quality. Clevelander is very good. Mojito! The Oceanfront is a typical SOBE hotel--overpriced, old, and in need of renovation. While that sounds very negative, I should point out that if you have been to the area before, you know that is just about the average. Pros: the staff was very courteous and helpful, maids made up the room as expected each day; the location is close to Lincoln Mall and Ocean Ave. Cons: the restaurant food quality and service, the unstaffed pool bar, and the crumbling paint trim in the rooms. Overall, I would stay there again unless something cheaper surfaced in the same area. Score 3 out of 5 Not satisfied Anonymous, Orlando, FL, 2007-02-16 I loved Lincoln Ave! It's full of restaurants and stores. They had to switch rooms because the a/c was not working. At night, the clerks at the front desk were not on sight and I had to wait several minutes for them to notice I needed assistance. I used the computer and trying to print a mapquest I lost my money because the printer was not working. And what's worst, there was no parking. Score 1 out of 5 Bates Motel on the Beach Dora, 2006-12-31 Jerry's which is open 24/7. Espanola Way - food, drinks until past midgnight. Ocean Drive - lots of restaurants, people watching, clubs (BED, OPIUM GARDENS).Upon our check in the front desk clerk acted as if we were bothering her and we stood there for 10 minutes without a greeting, hello or acknowledgedment. When she finished talking to the other clerk in Spanish she asked me for my credit card which I HANDED TO HER and she laid back on the counter to me after she'd run it for incidentals. RUDE, RUDE, RUDE!!! When we arrived in our room we had one tiny bar of soap, two old bath towels and one face cloth. We asked twice that night and didn't receive the extra soap and bath towels until the next morning. We asked the maid who was very helpful to provide up with extra soap, bath towels, etc. Overall this hotel was sub-standard and I wouldn't/won't stay here again and DEFINITELY WON'T RECOMMEND it to anyone!!!!!!!!!! Score 5 out of 5 Good value on South Beach Anonymous, Portland, ME, 2006-12-10 I was in Miami for Art Basel Miami Beach the first week in December and was very pleased with the close proximity to the Convention Center where the Exhibit was held. I also found the pool area and beach to be very nice. Because I was there for an event in the Convention Center, I couldn't have asked for a better location. It's within walking distance from everything on South Beach. There isn't anything plush about the hotel, but the rooms were spacious and clean. I was pleased with the hotel in terms of value as well and would go there again in the future. |
