You will know it's from the 1930s!!!

Jaclyn

There is everything close to this area. The beach is right across the street, Nikki Beach is 5 blocks down, there are many restaurants all along Ocean Drive, but the real restaurants are on Lincoln Road so make sure you go there to eat. Shopping is one block down on Collins and also all along Lincoln Road.

Upon arriving at this hotel, there was no air conditioning when you first walk in where the front desk is. We were put on the first floor which was up about 6 steps that you have to cart your luggage to because theres no elevator to take you there. Our first room was very large, however, there were NO dressers to put our clothes in! My pet peeve is to live out of my suitcase on vacation, so we requested to be moved to another room. Our next room was on the 2nd floor. We took the elevator up, and mind you for the rest of the trip NEVER took the elevator because I got stuck in it twice! It's one of those old fashioned elevators where you open the door and once you get in and hit the button of the floor you want to go to, the gate closes and the elevator is supposed to go. Well, two times it did not and there is no air in the elevator!! So we finally get to our 2nd room which was smaller but had a closet with mirrored doors which is a necessity for 3 girls on New Years Eve! This room's floor looked as if it hadn't been mopped in months, there was a dead bug in the corner of the room by the bed, the ledges by the windows were dusty, and there was no air conditioning! When I went to complain to the front desk, they told me that the air is controlled for the entire floor and that someone complained that it was too cold so they turned it down. So for 4 days in South Beach we never had a cool room no matter the several complaints to the front desk. Our toilet also would not flush which was fixed not once, twice, but three times. Needless to say, this hotel was really bad and I would rather have spent more money for a better quality hotel. This was definitely not worth it.

Great Location

Anonymous, Chicago, IL, 2007-02-27

Lots of clubs in a walking distance

The location was very good -- it was really only a street from the beach and there were restaurants very close ( pricey though ).The room was small, bed wasn't very confortable, and lots of maintainence issues ( leaking shower, broken light switch with hanging wires etc. )

Nice Location.... But

Anonymous, 2007-02-14

The Beach Paradise Hotel on South Beach was of very poor quality. It meet the basic human needs but the room was sparse and antiquated. It reminds me of a cheap nursing home. The shower was the only thing renovated in this art deco hotel. If you want to stay cheap on South Beach it works for a single day stay. I would not want to live in that place any longer than 24 hours. It has old world charm. Let's leave it at that.

Around the corner from Nine West, Arden B., MAC, GAP, etc.

This hotel is very old. The room had a broke closet doors, a dirty stained tub, no carpet and a very very small television. The room had unstable beds. The room also had a small ironing born which was very eckward. This hotel didn't not have a termometer in the room you couldn't control the air or the heat. This room was very uncomfortable and we didn't feel safe. Worse. The only good thing about this hotel was it's location. It's around the corner from the shopping strip. You can walk out of the hotel and be at the beach. We checked out 8 hours after being there. If you want to feel comfortable this hotel is not the place.

Great Location, not much else.

Anonymous, Atlanta, GA, 2006-03-16

Tons of restaurants within a few blocks that really come alive at night!

This hotel has a great location in the heart of South Beach and is economical, but the rooms are much smaller then they appear and the walls are VERY thin. We could constantly hear steet traffic and people walking up and down the hallways. There's no closet space or even a dresser, so expect to live out of your suitcase. For just a night it was fine because of the location, but I would not book an extended stay there.
