Most recent user reviewsScore 4 out of 5 Bargain Location Anonymous, 2007-03-14 If you get tired of eating at the theme park...the hotel supplies a shuttle to nearby Downtown Disney. There are restaurants,shopping, and nightlife.The Grosvenor is very impressive when you drive up,but the room disappoints. The room was basic.....two double beds,tv,vanity ,refrigerator....nothing fancy. The location was wonderful and the shuttles were convenient and easy to catch. There is a small convenient store in the lobby that supplied snacks,milk,light breakfasts and lunches. The staff was helpful and friendly. My chief complaint were the bed linens. The bedspread smelled awful as did the pillows. I was assured the next day that all would be changed out for clean linens,but that did not happen. I eventually tracked down housekeeping which removed the bedspread...the bedspread was never replaced which meant I had to request a blanket every night. Had it not been for the cleanliness issue I would not have hesitated in recommending this hotel. Go outside the disney resort area...make a left out of the hotle and cross over into the mall area where there's a grocery store an numerous eateries!The Grovenor Resort was in the perfect location to hop over to Disney's Wide World of Sports....You can get there in 5 minutes flat...Also, just a walk to Disney Downtown (right next door practically!). Just a mile or so from the main drag where you could go for less expensive food choices, too! Pool had a nice atmosphere and mix of families and folks of all ages. Nice experience! There was also a grocery in that same shopping center if you want to pick up some freash frute or something to take back to your room.The Grosvenor Resort In The Walt Disney World Resort was a pleasent stay. We liked what they had to offer on the grounds with the pool area and the work out room. The location was great, there were a lot of places near by for dinning and recreation, and Downtown Disney was just a block down the street. Score 2 out of 5 Great location, but... Ryan, Dallas, TX, 2007-03-07 Downtown Disney is just a block away...my grandma could walk there and back!The Grosvenor Resort and Hotel has a great location as its only a walk to Downtown Disney and has great shuttle services to and from Disney and a good shuttle rate for visiting Universal 15 miles away. However, the wing rooms of the hotel are outside entry and need remodeled. The hotel is remodeling from the top floors down, but they still need to keep the older rooms clean as in shower tile and bathroom area. All other areas, linen, etc were clean and enjoyed the time I was there. There was also a Disney store in the hotel.This hotel was a great place and location. It was very close to Downtown Disney and in a central location for a lot of places. I was very satisfied, the bus transportation was excellent. Score 2 out of 5 Not So Great Sharon, Wausau, WI, 2007-03-06 Downtown Disney is just a short walk. Shuttles were great!Was to be pool side. No rooms open on that side. TV sound didn't work. So they had us change rooms, (not tv's) after the maintance guy said they could come at 7 am too take a look at it. They cleared our table at our $30.00 Charator meal before we were done. I left my camara on the table and they thought we forgot it but we were up at the buffet getting food. Our beds were in need of replacement also carpet. We were charged $10. per day at checkin to our surprise. If you like Disney this is a great place to stay for the price. When you first walk in, it may look like nothing is going on, but give it about 30mins and you'll see what it's all about.If you plan on hitting the night life in Disneys Paradise Island, this is THE place to stay. Stay out late, have fun, walk back to the hotel. A car is not needed. |
