Most recent user reviewsScore 4 out of 5 Great Location Ronald Ask for a room that does not overlook the Interstate and make sure you ride the outdoor facing glass elevator for a truly outstanding view. The Royal Plaza is an older property that is well maintained, close to Dowwntown Disney and convenient to Orlando's shopping malls. The room was well appointed and the bath big and comfortable. We were a little disappointed with the choice of dining facilities, or, should I say, the lack thereof. Even when open, the restaurant looked empty and univiting and the lack of any other facility {the pool bar was closed} didn't help matters. But, the hotel locaton with its parklike setting is ideal for joggers, it has excellent access to Disney and premiere shopping is literally just down the Road. Score 4 out of 5 Great Value Daniel, Seattle, WA Shuttle back from Disney parks takes awhile so be preparedThe hotel is very convenient to the parks located inside Disney World. Our first room was close to the hot tub and was noisy so we moved to a room in the tower which was very quiet. Room maintenance needed a little help, the message light on the phone could not be shut off so we had to cover it with a towel. We had to have the shower head replaced and a couple of light bulbs replaced but the room was huge and after getting it squared away it was great. We will stay there again. Score 5 out of 5 Great Place To Stay Michael, Tampa, FL, 2007-03-07 Great Places to eat right next door.Clean!! Enough Said. Score 5 out of 5 Beautiful room Anonymous, 2007-03-03 There's a variety of restaurants for all appetites just a short drive away. The room was spacious and beautiful. The bed was so comfortable and provided a great night's sleep. Everything was clean and lovely. The bathroom was separate from the sink and vanity which was great so one area was available to another family member at the same time. We would definitely stay there again. Score 2 out of 5 not satisfied Anonymous, 2007-02-24 We were not satisfied with the hotel. The dining was fine in the morning, but horrible for dinner, long waits (with no other patrons), overpriced, etc. The pricing was changed multiple times during the week for coffee ($4 no refill) and buffet. The Internet access was fee based and overpriced, and it was cut off prematurely. The hotel refunded this, yet spending over one hour getting a connection back was a bit annoying when on vacation. Spend a bit more and get a better place. Score 2 out of 5 You could find something bettter... Anonymous, New York, NY, 2007-02-22 It is close to Pleasure Island, which is nice because they have different restaurants there and the Cirque du Soleil show there. That's a plus!!The Royal Plaza is a decent looking hotel. It has a nice pool, a gym, and other amenities. However, when I first got there, we were sent to a dirty room, than we had another room, in the older side of the hotel, and our key swipe wasn't working. Housekeeping came in and made our bed and that was it (no extra towels...NOTHING ELSE!) The staff is NOT accomodating at all. I just honestky think that forthe price you could find a better hotel...so keep looking! Score 5 out of 5 Good Location Patrick, Kansas City, MO, 2007-02-21 Downtown Disney has plenty to do. It's a few blocks walking, or you can take a free bus from the hotel. The Royal Plaza was very nice & clean. The location was nice being near I-4 and a few blocks from Downtown Disney. The double bed is a bit small for two people to sleep in, but not a big issue. A couple of things that were not major issues: the room had a ceiling fan which would be a nice touch, but it didn't work. Upon checkin, they ask for a credit card to cover incidentals. When we checked out, they needed $8.00 a day to cover additional ammenities such as USA today. But other than those issues, I would stay there again. Score 5 out of 5 Friendly Staff Aletha, Boston, MA, 2007-02-20 10 minute walk to Downtown DisneyThe hotel staff were very friendly and treated you like royalty. We had a very pleasant stay and will return again. Score 5 out of 5 Nice Location Danielle, New York, NY, 2007-02-14 We recently stayed at the Royal Plaza during our trip to Disney World. This hotel is in the perfect location (right next to Downtown Disney) & their bus service came every 30 min. to bring us to the parks. I was very satisfied with the convienence of the location & room service. The hotel itself is also kept up very nicely. I would def. stay there again! Score 2 out of 5 My review of Royal Plaza in the Walt Disney World Resort Anonymous, 2007-02-06 There is much to do in the area. The hotel is on the Disney Shuttle bus run and that is most convenient. The room was small and not well arranged. One had to be in bed to see the TV. The bath tub would not drain water unless one held up the stopper. Fitness center was a mess. The equipment was either broken or not calibrated. |
