Most recent user reviewsScore 1 out of 5 Not very accomodating for cancellations Holly, Traverse City, MI Stay at the Diamond Head Resort for the same rate, if you are over 25 and actually want a nice hotel. If you are under 25 and are interested in the traditional Spring Break activities -- this is your place.I had a conference at the Diamond Head resort next to Lani Kai. At the time of my reservation Diamond Head didn't have a vacancy for the 2nd night that I needed, but upon arrival there was availability due to a cancellation. So I attempted to cancel the Lani Kai reservation 36 hours in advance and they refused. Lani Kai is known for catering to the Spring Break crowd and not known for the clean rooms or service; whereas, the Diamond Head more of a conference hotel with great service and very clean accomodations for the same price as Lani Kai. Plus the hassel of not staying in the hotel of my conference was too much. I was really disappointed that they wouldn't accomodate this request and would never stay at this hotel or recommend it. Score 1 out of 5 Skip this hotel Charles, Manchester, NH there are many other hotel options in the area.Upon checkin,we found a very loud and drunk party. The room was located over the band which was to play until 2 AM. You could not hear a conversation in the room, if you choose to stay. The room was old, and filthy. Please avoid this location at all cost. Score 2 out of 5 not family friendly Jay, Atlantic City, NJ, 2007-03-14 Reeses for the best breakfast in fort meyers beachthis hotel cateres to spring breakersand the staff made no effort to control the unruly drinking and noise till 3am every night of our stay . the location was good and the food in the area was excellent, with in walking distance. Score 1 out of 5 Avoid this hotel unless you are a person who drinks and doesn't want to sleep elaine, Detroit, MI, 2007-03-13 Immediately upon checking in I saw many young people carrying beer cans and drinking everywhere. I looked over the balcony and saw a young man urinating in a drain in the parking lot near the pool. there was loud music, and no quiet rooms. I walked down the beach and found another hotel that had a cancellation and reserved the room. I returned to the front desk within 2 hours of check-in and asked to be released from the room, but they refused. They moved me up to the fifth floor, from first floor saying it was quieter. It was slightly quieter because it was farther from the bar, but truly there is no quiet part of the hotel. We were awakened at 3:30am with someone vomiting outside our door. 10 minutes later, we heard someone else puking, perhaps in the next room. the music and partying didn't stop until 4:00am. My 82 year old mother and I left the next day. it was completely unsuitable for us. Score 4 out of 5 Old but clean Daniel, St Louis, MO, 2007-03-05 We were able to walk along the beach and go to different shops. and bars and restaurnts. The Lani Kai was old but clean. The main reason that we would probably stay someplace else on the beach is because there were a lot of college kids there and it was very noisy. We didn't get alot of sleep at night. The service in the restaurant was not very good at all. We had our meals before our salads. The food was good though. We did love staying on the beach. Next time we go we will stay on Fort Myers, beach, but will choose someplace a little quieter at night. Score 1 out of 5 Biggest Dump I've Ever Stayed In Anonymous, Los Angeles, CA, 2006-07-12 I literally felt in danger leaving my room. There is not a positive thing I can say about this place. I had to leave after reluctantly spending one night. Score 4 out of 5 enjoyable stay Anonymous, 2006-07-04 The location of the hotel was excellent. View of the ocean was gorgeous. There was plenty to do as far as beach activities, bars, rooftop restaurant, shops, childrens playground, nightclub. The hotel itself needs alot of upgrading - paint rooms, make repairs on doors, appliances, etc. If you want a quiet place to stay this is not the hotel. It has a very active clientele- music from the clubs and noise does go on most of the night but we did stay there on a holiday weekend. Overall, we did enjoy our stay at this hotel. Score 3 out of 5 Geat for partying! kelly, 2006-06-05 It is very true that the Lani Kai is NOT a luxury hotel, not even close. The elevators were hot and the foyers smelled. The front entrance is dark and uninviting and those bathrooms are horrid! All this is easily avoided. Use the stairs, use the bathroom in your room and get over the entrance way. The Lani Kai staff is fantastic. Everyone from the front desk people to our incredible beach waitresses was overly helpful and cheerful. Our room was cleaned daily, new sheets and towels. It was kept up. The bathroom door stuck, the back of the toilet lifted when you flushed and it was REALLY hard to open our balcony door. All things you can deal with. It's a party place. Music playing on the beach all day and bands playing in the bars all night. This is not the place to go to catch up on sleep. This is the place to go to lose your inhibitions and have a great time. The drink specials every day makes the place even more appealing. Not for the family vacation or anything remotely peaceful like that. The location of the Lani Kai couldnt be better. Wed walk up the beach at night hitting all the other beach bars. Then wed make our way out to the road and times square and hit all those bars on the way back. Wed end the night at the Lani Kai making fun of all the 21 yr olds trying to hold their liquor. Granted, at 33 I felt like one of the oldest people there. And my friend, at 41, was ancient!! We had a great time! Score 1 out of 5 needs lots of work Kathyrn, Punta Gorda, 2006-03-31 The lani kai was very discomforting. The room was very shabby and looked unkempt. There was mold on ceiling which made me sick. There was holes in the walls. Everything from bathroom to furniture was totally out of shape and VERY worn. I have stayed in cheaper hotels which were much nicer. This was a night away for my husbands 40th birthday and he was on leave from Iraq I was embarrassed by my choice. Something should be done so that others dont waste their money. Score 4 out of 5 Very good located Hector, Fort Lauderdale, FL, 2006-02-15 Excelent view for the sunset. This hotel need a remodelation urgently. The door or my room 510 was very unsecure and the slide door to the balcony did not lock. There was no connection option to the Internet in the romm. The food excelent. The people vey nice. |
