Most recent user reviewsScore 4 out of 5 nice locall john, Baltimore, MD very nice location right on the beach . some rooms are a block or two from the beach . pools were clean and open . breakfast was nice front poor very nice. room was very basic but clean a/c was not working would have been a problem if weather was hotter. overall a nice value considering location and pools ..do not book this hotel for room though Score 5 out of 5 Great Location DANIEL, Newark, NJ Beach Place is less than 1 mile. Has a Hooters and a couple of other shops and resturants. You have to try Max's $3.99 lunch. No gimmick here, just alot of great food. The hotel is right across from the ocean. Has two pools, and a very nice outside porch, great to sit back and watch people go by. The hotel is old, not doing any major improvements. Looks to me like they will one day sell the property to developers for high rise condos like those that are being built on either side of them. Our room was nice. Third floor, ocean view, equipped with fridge, microwave, stove. Anyone looking to stay here, keep in mind, you get what you pay for. For a hotel right across from the beach and less than 1 mile to Beach Place, I think is a good value. Score 1 out of 5 ONLY FOR SPRING BREAKERS Anonymous, 2007-03-09 This place did not meet my expectations at all!! The rooms were not very clean and needed a lot of improvements. We ended up in a different hotel. My husband said he'd rather sleep in a rental car than in this hotel. The only good things about it were the hotel clerks were VERY friendly & the location was GREAT!! Young kids on sring break would probably be satisfied with this room for the value & location (right across from the beach) Score 1 out of 5 Dirty, scary place Erin, Providence, RI, 2007-02-16 nice mall on sunrise blvdThe Waterfront Beach Resort was a big disappointment to me and my daughter. On Thursday, when I first arrived, they gave me a room in a very small, somewhat scary looking building. When we opened the door to the room, there were two unmade beds, garbage on the floor and the table, and it had a foul smell to it. They WERE kind enough to give us a different room, in a closer building which was a lot less scarier. At 9:00am on the morning we were to leave, housekeeping came and banged and pulled on the locked door and tried to get in. I was in the shower, and they frightened my daughter. They never identified themselves. Since chek out time was 11:00, this was very irritating and absolutely unneccessary. Needless to say, I would never stay in this place again, and would NEVER recommend it to anyone either. Score 5 out of 5 Very nice area richard, New York, NY, 2006-08-27 Watch the sun set , Its beautiful. There is a restaurant a couple of blocks away from this hotel, they claim they have the worlds biggest margarita's, dont waste your time, the margarita's tates like water. This hotel was very confortable. The room was very clean, there was a room with a microwave and refrigerator and a lot of space to put your luggage. The pool was very clean. The area is very nice right across the street from the beach could you ask for more. The breakfast could be better. Score 5 out of 5 family friendly Anonymous, St Louis, MO, 2006-04-14 It's a good 15-20 minute hike to a grocery store, so take some food. Eating out was $30-50 a meal. The Waterfront Inn was very affordable and comfortable. The staff was helpful and courteous. It is an older hotel so if you are looking for a fancy place this is not for you. It was right across from the beach and walking distance from most places. Score 2 out of 5 Dont stay here Michael, Muskegon, MI, 2006-03-06 All the shopping and nightlife is about a mile down the road, so you need to walk or take a cab all the time. When we arrived at Midnight, the clerk didn't want t show us where are room was, she just told us it was out back. We found it after about 15mins in another building that was very run down. We opened the door and the room looked like it had never been cleaned, the carpet was torn, dirt on the floors. I have stayed at bad hotels before but this one was the worst. It was right across from the ocean but a little bit away from everything else. I would not recommend this place to anyone!!! Dont go thinking you wont be in the room that long, because even to sleep for a couple of hours and shower is to long. Score 4 out of 5 Great Location Brian, Chicago, IL, 2006-02-05 Beach Place just a few short blocks south offers a variety of dining, entertainment and shopping.Great location right across from the beach. Attractive Art Deco 60s's atmosphere which was nice. It was a very good value . Free breakfast which offered variety. The covered front porch overlooking the beach was a strong point. Room had microwave, coffee maker, fridge, plates, bowls etc., and safe. Room was clean and tastefully decorated. I would stay here again and would recommend this hotel to those on a budget looking for a good value. Score 2 out of 5 Shortened stay Anonymous, 2005-12-30 The Casablanca Cafe is NOT to be missed!! It is a jewel, and the wait staff were most kind and considerate. A true value with exquisite food!On the second night of our 5-night stay, we were awakened by a couple in the adjoining room who were likely under the influence of illegal substances. The conversation through the thin walls included the phrase 'stolen car' and a long list of obscene words and utterances. We quickly checked out the next morning and found a nearby establishment to finish our vacation. Admittedly, the management had no control over the clientele, but since we were not refunded any monies for the remaining three nights, I feel no restraint is necessary. The area is undergoing much exciting development, and the weather was beautiful. The positives outweighed the negatives, and we would have had an entirely delightful time but for the lack of consideration displayed by the fugitives from justice next door.
