All of our Hotel Rooms include a small refrigerator and microwave. Our efficiencies and apartments include a fully equipped kitchen. Most of our balconies have views of either our courtyard or our pool area. Pets welcome for a $50.00 non-refundable fee. Located 2 blocks from the beach it was an easy walk to the beach and local shops. Room was spacious and did not feel cluttered like some motels do when you have several suitcases. Take a quick dip in the ocean and then head out to the nearby Irish Pub to quench your thirst. Or maybe rent a bicycle and tour the State Park and the marinas.The SeaGate was a little oasis away from home. It's not glamorous, but very friendly and accommodating. The pool setting was private, tropical and relaxing. We were surprised to learn that the proximity to a State Park afforded the occassional close encounter with live monkeys. This motel is but a block from the ocean and near to a hidden cove of restaurants and shops. We were happy to have this place to stay when all the big name hotels were fully booked, and didn't offer the simplicity of a more casual lifestyle. The rooms could use a good decorator and a more thorough cleaning. All in all it was a pleasant stay! Score 1 out of 5 Review TAMI, Detroit, MI, 2006-06-23 My family and I did not sctually stay here due to the fact of uncleanliness. The bathroom smelled like urine and there was mold in sink. The bedrooms had 2 full size beds with 2 ceilings fans spinning and squealing looking like they were going to spin off. The carpet was like an mildewy teacher's classroom....dank. The kitchen area seemed ok as well as the sitting area. HOwever, 2 out of the 3 lamps in the sitting area did not function even when plugged in and turned on. I think they needed to change the bulbs. The location was a bit "seedy"...sketchy. I felt like I was in a Miami Vice episode. HOwever, it was in walking distance to the beach. When we got there, the keys to the room were in an envelope taped to the reception door with my last name on it. There was a letter welcoming us. On the way up to the room, there was a pond which was green with algae and the yard did not seem well maintained.I was overall very dissatisfied with the Sea Gate Resort Motel.
