Most recent user reviewsScore 1 out of 5 worst nightmare carmelo, Fort Myers, FL the super 8 speedway was my worst nightmare ever in 40+ years of travel experience all over the world. when i arrived at midnight traveling with 2 young children i was told by a rude front desk clerk 'yes i have you in my computer, but we gave your room away, too bad.' they did not offer to help find other accomodations, the motel 8 customer service office was closed, and the motel 8 800 reservation clerk offered a motel 8 15 miles away for twice the price. they gave no sa+tisfaction as to the charges iccurred on my credit card as well. I will sue motel 8 for my inconvenience. Score 2 out of 5 Not worth the money. Score 1 out of 5 My review of SUPER 8 MOTEL - SPEEDWAY Anonymous, 2005-12-22 daytona beach was beautiful. We found bugs in the refrigerater. The key didn,t work. Bathtub didn,t drain. Score 1 out of 5 In Sad Shape Susan, Newark, NJ, 2005-11-26 The Daytona International Speedway is less than a mile away. Major highways are easily accessed. Location is the only good thing about this motel. There is a Denny's right in front, so you could get food any time. The Super 8 Speedway motel was very run down. On many attempts, the keys did not work to open the doors. The bed was quite uncomfortable. The blanket was tattered and threadbare. The sheets were thin & barely stayed on the mattress they were so small. The towels were very thin and some were like sandpaper. The walls needed painting, not just in our room, but in the common areas (The lobby was being painted while we were there.) The cement walkways were cracked and uneven. On Thanksgiving, the cleaning staff was given the day off, but we were not told about it. There was one little piece of paper on the front desk making the announcement. We didn't see the paper until we came to complain late that day, since the day before no one had cleaned the room either. So that meant we were left without cleaning for 2 days in a row. The first day there, we asked for additional hangers, because we were staying for 6 nights. The desk clerk said he would have some sent, but they never appeared. The Super 8 pad of paper by the phone was soaking wet when we arrived. When we threw it away, another never appeared. There was no clock or radio in the room and no listing of what the local TV stations were. Planes were coming in for a landing right overhead. It would have been helpful to have known about that in advance. The continental breakfast was very sparse. Coffee was OK, but there were only tiny packets of fake creamer. The OJ machine broke down. Another guest who said he had been coming there for 5 years in a row for the Turkey Rod event at the Speedway, said every year the Super 8 had gotten worse and worse. It was our first time, and we would not ever give it another chance. |
