A denny's and Red lobest were right across the street

The Islander was a nicely located, great view of the beach and easy access, but balcony door had to be chained to stay shut, kitchen little dirty, bed little unconfortable and no internet. Had to go across the street to denny's.

I really enjoyde the ocean view from my balcony it was amazing to just sit down and watch the sunset. However, the quality of the room and bathroom was only ok i was a little dissapointed about that.

The Islander was very much the same as any other hotel. I was very disappointed with check-in, check-in time is 3pm and it was 7pm before we has our room. The TV didn't work and had to have it replaced. Everything is was the normal hotel.

Close to Daytona Beach Main Street.

Older facility, but there is an effort to keep the rooms clean, modernized, and comfortable. Hotel staff was an A+, and overall a B+. Nice experience, and I would stay there again. Did not use the pool facilities,and the only use of the restaurant was for the continental breakfast which was very nice and well staffed.

RESTAURANT ACROSS THE STREET --ENTERTAINMENT JUST A SHUTTLE AWAY --SHUTTLE AND BUS STOP DIRECTLY IN FRONT OF HOTEL

GREAT VIEW...NEEDS REPAIRS BUT FINE FOR US JUST VISITING A BRIEF TIME. I DO NOT NEED TOP OF THE LINE. ENJOYED IT VERYMUCH BUT OUR ROOM WAS NOT READY WHEN WE GOT THERE AND HAD TO WAIT SEVERAL HOURS TO GET IT.FELT THEY COULD HAVE LEFT US STAY LATER HOUR OR TWO THE NEXT DAY OR COMPENSATED IN SOME OTHER WAY.

The boardwalk and amusement pier are all great family attractions -- only about three miles from the hotel. Also directly across the street from this hotel are Denny's Red Lobster, Ho Jo's, A souvenier shop (nice one), Cracked Egg's restaurant, and much more. Publix, Bank of America and Walgreen's are just up the street! Perfect location!

The Islander was more than I expected, and very comfortable. Reading the other reviews, I saw complaints about the shower water temperature, and the staff, and other general comments... none of which mattered much to me because this hotel was strictly an alternative to camping in a tent, so I would have been satisfied with anything. That being said, however, I was very impressed with the quality of my stay. The comments about the water temperature and old fixtures are true. The fixturess in this place are old. The walls and doors are old. The windows are old. But everything was working, and well maintained... and above all CLEAN. The place just needs to be remodeled. Everything else was great! They have a nice pool, and HUGE indoor hot tub! Also another regular size hot tub outside. And they provide free continental breakfast in a large dining area. Staff were polite and professional, the room was immaculate, the bed comfortable and the location was top-notch -- right on the ocean! My overall stay was great and I am very satisfied with what I got in comparison to what I paid! My only complaint (minor) was the noise of those loud Harley's at 2:00AM kept me up my first night because my room was facing the road. After that I slept through it. I'm sure it would have been unnoticeable had I sprung for the ocean-facing room.

Hotel staff was very friendly, however overwhelmed with all the phone calls that were coming in when I was checking in. It took about 20 minutes just to get checked in. Hallways were a little run down, lobby was very nice and the hotel was clean.

Family friendly

Take your binnoculars as you can see a delightful dolphin show in the mornings. Watch from your hotel room and you can catch the dolphins swimming in the ocean in schools. Usually around 9a.m. They seem to go by each day around this time. We enjoyed this free show for four out of five days we stayed at the Islander.

The Islander Hotel is in an ideal location as anything you would want is right at your fingertips. The rooms are just the right size and they overlook the beautiful Atlantic Ocean. The bathroom is a bit small but there is a separate dressing and vanity area which makes up for the difference in size. The rooms are clean and there is plenty of closet and drawer storage space. Each room has a safe which is a great feature for locking up valuables. There is a desk with two chairs for reading or writing and watching television. There are many channels to chose from, however, who watches television on vacation. There are many resturants within the immediate area of the hotel and shopping is plentiful. The staff is well trained and readily available.

The Denny's restaruant acrossthe street gave a 20% discount on your bill by showing your room key.

Pleasantly suprised for a last minute choice. The hotel was only 15 minutes from the Daytona Raceway. Located on the beach,only wish the weather had been nicer, breezy & cool!!! Many great restaruants & bars nearby several within walking distance to the hotel. The hotel staff was friendly and helpful with my requests. Although I wouldn't rate it a 4-star facility, the rooms were clean, plenty of hotwater and I would stay there again.
