Most recent user reviewsScore 4 out of 5 Interesting architecture Anonymous Baywalk Shops of St. Pete: restaurants, clothing and art and amenity shopsThe Pier Hotel had very friendly and helpful front desk staff. I was a bit disappointed that the room did not feature amenities described in the marketing materials, i.e. no microwave or refrigerator. Overall an attractive place to stay very close to the downtown St. Pete shops and restaurants. Score 5 out of 5 Charming Reminder of The Rich and Famous of the 1930's Judith, Atlanta, GA All kinds of privately owned shops nearby, as well as restaurants and quiet residences. This hotel was beautifully restored, reminiscent of the 20's and 30's. It's a historic landmark in the middle of a nice area of St. Petersburgh. It reminded us of the artsy and literary crowd of that era. The decor of the suite was quietly elegant and accomodations comfortable. The staff were professional and friendly. I'd go back in a heartbeat. Score 2 out of 5 My review of The Pier Hotel Robert, West Palm Beach, FL, 2006-05-05 Both the Baseball and Football stadiums are a very short drive from the hotelSome may call this a "boutique" Hotel, and some may say it is "quaint", but we just thought it was old. It has about 35 rooms, on three floors, no elevator, close to shopping and "The Pier". The first room we had was dark, and you could not open the window blinds as it looked directly into the windows of a somewhat delapidated, multi-family dwelling about 10 feet away. The bathroom was about the size of one in a ship board cabin, - so small that it bordered on the unusable. There was no closet. From the emergency escape floor plan, there appeared to be a few rooms with at least basic size baths. We asked for a change of room, and the staff was very accomodating. On the second night of our stay they moved us to a room facing the parking lot and with a real bathroom. Parking lot is unpaved. Breakfast is minimal. Complimentary wine from 5-7 pm is very nice. Score 5 out of 5 Very authentic feel of 1920's Era Marilyn, Fort Lauderdale, FL, 2006-04-17 A block away is a double leveled shopping/entertainment era and if you enjoy walking the pier is about 1/4 mile. The Dali Museum is 30 minutes away on foot, by car 5!The hotel had a very authentic feel of the 1920's era and the comforts offered to the wealthy at the time period. However the air was not cold and the bathroom had flying dead insects. The front desk service was wonderful that made you feel special and were very attentive. Breakfast was lovely as well. I did recommend it to another couple who also wanted to experience authencity. Score 5 out of 5 Review Anonymous, 2006-02-16 City Walk is almost right across the street. There was a mini refridgerator and microwave in the room and they served a nice complimentary breakfast each morning in addition to complimentary drinks in the evening. The hotel has a few floors, but no elevator. The only issue that I had was that the shower did not always work well. I liked the proximity to dining facilities. The room is a little tight especially the bathroom. The hotel staff was very friendly.
