The Cavalier Hotel is a Classic Up-Graded Art Deco Hotel located on the world famous Ocean Drive, overlooking the beach. The Cavalier Hotel is very popular with the Fashion Industry and is frequently featured in photo shoots due to its beautiful facade. The hotel was originally built in 1936 and reopened in 1992. To keep the hotel fresh and exciting, the hotel recently underwent a soft refurbishment that includes a redecorated lobby with brand new furniture, freshly painted hallways and guest rooms, and rich batik bedspreads and cool accessories in all of the rooms.
Most recent user reviewsScore 4 out of 5 very friendly Anonymous Nice, for young people...Not too expensive, Perfect location Score 5 out of 5 Excellent Location! Anonymous Parking lot located behind hotelLocated minutes from the beach and bars, shops and resturants! Room was clean and spacious! Score 4 out of 5 Good Bang for you buck Anonymous, New York, NY, 2007-03-12 THe hotel is a little bit old fashioned but its right on Ocean Drive next to the beach..Lots of places to eat and close to clubs... Score 2 out of 5 South Beach hotel, not chic Anonymous, 2006-07-07 There are great places to have meals, beginning with breakfast all around. The amenities were below my usual standards. I received only one set of towels, the hallway was long, dank, dark, smelly, and the elevator was a scary place to be lugging my own luggage into. I was informed that there was no parking valet service, despite signs stating otherwise. Luckily, it rained and street parking was readily available. The hotel's prime interest is hawking meals to passerby. I saw no takers and frankly wondered about the kitchen's state given the condition of everything else. However, it is centrally located on Ocean Dr. Score 1 out of 5 Very disgusting stay Anonymous, 2006-06-27 I only stayed one night with my family. That very first night we could not sleep because our next door neighbors spent the whole night, up until about 3:40 a.m., yelling, laughing out loud, slamming the doors and banging on the walls. They even broke a bottle. Next day I told the front desk employee what had happened during the night and she said that she had to investigate with them. They told her that they hadn't been in all night. I proceeded to walk out of the hotel with my family and I was successful in finding another hotel. I went back to the Cavalier Hotel, gathered my belongings, and checked out about 2:15 p.m. Score 5 out of 5 AWESOME!! EDWIN, New York, NY, 2006-06-27 This is a great hotel for the price. You really can't ask for anything more. People are nice, rooms are clean, and the location is perfect!! Score 4 out of 5 Great location and good price Rebecca, Charlotte, NC, 2006-04-09 The hotel is between 13th and 14th street. Many bars, such as the clevelander and the Front Page are one block away. the main action is between 6th and 14th street. Cheaper restaurants can be found two blocks off the beach on washington street.the "lobby area" was fairly small and retro looking with plastic seating booths. They had a small bar area where you could buy drinks and you had to request ice for your room. We thought we were going to get room fridges, but they said only five were still working. we stayed on the first floor where the hallways were painted dark purple and the lighting was poor. The room had two double beds and a small tv (13-15") perched on a shelf near the ceiling. There was a closet, but no armoire for clothes. there was a built in ledge in the room to place small items on and put makeup on. The bathroom was small with a pedestal sink, toilet and old tub. There was a tiny shelf to place your toothpaste and toothbrush. the location was great. The ocean is about a 5 min walk across the street and dunes. The only problem in staying in a budget hotel as it attracts the young who liked to pile 4 to 5 in a room and make noise in the early morning. Some may prefer a more mature crowd. Score 4 out of 5 Review Anonymous, Orlando, FL, 2005-10-22 There is restaurants from many different countries just a couple of blocks away, so if you are tired of the usual try something different.Score 4 out of 5 decent spot Anonymous, New York, NY, 2005-06-12 hotel staff was friendly....orginally room i had wouldnt lock properly and i had no problem geting my room switched. rooms are somewhat small, there's no ice machines, so if you what ice you have to take a trip to the lobby...2 for 1 drinks were on the money during happy hour..the best part about the hotel is the location...your on the strip, and the beach is right across the street... |
