Most recent user reviewsScore 1 out of 5 A horrible experience Dan, Louisville, KY The Inverrary was, at first appearance, reasonably attractive. However, appearances masked very poor service and questionable maintenance. Our experience was ruined by the hotel's food/room service -- or absolute lack thereof. My wife and I had decided to keep things simple on the evening of our arrival, so we ordered room-service pizza, which was advertised on posters in the lobby as well as in menu cards in our room. We were promised delivery "in fifteen minutes" when we placed the order at 6:30. At 8p.m., when the pizza had still not arrived, I visited the front desk to inquire. I was told that due to the large volume of dining room business, they were running "a little behind", but I was given assurance that my order was "now in" and should be delivered in a few minutes. At 9:15, when we still had not received the order, my wife and I had to dress, visit the front desk to cancel the order (without receiving any apology, by the way), and leave the premises to find some food outlet that was still open at that hour. Thank God for Denney's -- thought I'd never be saying that! My wife remarked that evening that the only thing that could be worse is to have no hot showers in the morning. You guessed it -- no hot water, even after 45 minutes. Other evidence-- cracked light fixtures in the lavatory area, hallway light fixtures that had no cover over the exposed fluorescents, and you get quite an ugly experience. Perhaps at one time this was a "grand dame" resort hotel. Score 2 out of 5 short fused staff Emerald huge mall located 30mins. away (sawgrass mill mall). The Inverrary hotel staff were very short tempered, the food was expensive and had a long wait, the room was suited more for a motel, slow elevators, slow response to problems if any, not worth the money. Score 4 out of 5 Great staff, old property Charles This hotel is situated in a quiet residential neighborhood, only a 15 minute drive from the Las Olas Blvd restaurants. The Inverrary hotel is a property showing some wear and in need of renovation. That said, the overall experience was good, with a lot of credit due to the warm, friendly staff. The room was clean, the king bed was comfortable, the bath area featured 2 separate sinks with vanities, and the room was quiet. The only real negative is the worn, outdated fixtures. If this property had been renovatedrecently, we'd change the rating from good to excellent. I'll say again that the staff was exceptionally warm and friendly, and the room was very clean. Score 4 out of 5 Review Anonymous No review provided by user Score 1 out of 5 Needs Remodeling maria, Pensacola, FL, 2007-03-12 the beach is about 10 Min from this hotel. For a resort hotel, this was very out dated. The mattresses were very thin and you could feel the springs. Not comfortable to sleep in. The worst part was the yellow water. The floors were new, but everything else was old. When you pay this much for a room, you expect it to be up to date. We will not stay at this hotel again. Score 5 out of 5 nice place to stay Richard, 2007-03-07 The hotel is being updated room by room. It was very clean and all the staff were very helpful. We recommended the hotel to our best friends and they were very satisfied. Score 4 out of 5 OK for the Budget Price matt, 2007-03-04 This hotel was a great value since evry hotel in the area was nearly double the price BUT in a bad nieghborhood. Aslo hotel upkeep was below par. Always concerned with the elevators since they always opened and closed strangely and floor lower or higher depending on the trip. Staff friendly and attentive. Bad parking and lot very dark. Score 2 out of 5 Very Misleading Anonymous, Charleston, WV, 2007-02-28 Sawgrass mills outlet mall is about a 15 minute drive from the hotel. This hotel states they have renovated the whole... There idea of renovating was adding wood laminate flooring in the king rooms, and adding a little paint to the walls, the bathrooms were left untouched and it showed. Overall the room was comfortable. We would not stay there again or recommend it to anyone. Score 4 out of 5 My review of The Inverrary Vacation Resort Anonymous, 2007-02-25 The front desk personnel (the lady who checked us in) was extremely helpful and accomodating. My daughter and I had just driven in from Orlando and she had a conference to go to and I was afraid I would not be able to check in until later that day. I have several medical problems including a heart condition and was very tired and wanted to rest. The gentleman at the front desk just said that I could not check in until the regular time and did not even look into it. Thankfully, the woman at the front desk (unfortunately, I don't have her name but she was there on Feb 23rd around 8am) accomodated us and I really appreciate. It is too bad you can not have several employees as helpful as she was. Otherwise, the hotel facilities were OK. The only other 2 complaints I have is that none of the ice machines were working and after calling the front desk several times and being told to go to different floors I finally found the only place to get ice was from the bar downstairs. I did not get anyone that was willing to help me find a working ice machine - it would have been nice for an employee to get the ice for me and bring it to my room since I got the run around several times. Also, my daughter ordered room service the first night- and the nachos were terrible. They were so greasy and the meat was cooked to death- basically it was unedible. Then to top it off, the girl who brought the tray to us around 10 or 11 came back after midnight to retrieve the tray and woke us both up. That could have waited till the morning. The whole experience was OK - the hotel and facilities were average Score 1 out of 5 Very old and not updated! Anonymous, 2007-02-06 Nothing near by. Not the greatest area! There really is nothing near by that I would want to even go to.For the price, this hotel was totally unacceptable. Dated back to the 1950's and never updated! The bartender and waiter didn't have a clue as to what "Port" wine was!! They didn't know what Dewars scotch was either!! Don't even know why they were even in the cocktail lounge??? The French toast from room service was cold. The people at the front desk were very nice. |
