When the Winterhaven Hotel opened in 1939, it was advertised as an "ultra modern" hotel with "large outside rooms," "a sky top solarium," "spacious lobby and mezzanine," and "large veranda overlooking the ocean." The meticulous restoration has preserved everything. OUR HOTEL WILL BE UNDERGOING CONSTRUCTION AND WE APOLOGIZE FOR ANY INCONVENIENCE. Construction will occur between the hours of 9:00am and 5:00pm Monday through Friday.
Most recent user reviewsScore 2 out of 5 My review of Winterhaven Hotel juan, Los Angeles, CA there are a lot of night clubs withing waking distance that everybody can go to.the winter hotel was not waht i was expecting, the room that i was given was pretty small and right next to the elevator witch made a lt of noise all day and night. Score 4 out of 5 Very Helpful Staff Anonymous Take a walk down Lincoln rather than Ocean. More choices for lower costs. The employees at Winterhaven were very accomodating. The location was perfect, across from the beach and within walking distance of everything else. The rooms were small with poor views, but I think that is how all hotels are in South Beach. Score 5 out of 5 Location is everything Anonymous, 2007-03-02 Beach, food, nightlife, basically everthing is right there. The hotel is fine. Rooms are a little small, but are well appointed. The hotel is right on Ocean Blvd. and has a nice porch in the front. A good place to see the world pass by. Score 5 out of 5 ON the beach, clean, good value, etc., etc... Anonymous, 2006-11-22 The Winterhaven is not blocks from the beach, it is on the beach, which is great. The hotel was being renovated, so there was some noise, which we were warned in advance, but the noise was really minimal and started at a reasonable hour (8 am on Wednesday). The rooms were small, but they were very nicely equipped. There was a complimentary breakfast (complete with waffles), a happy hour where the bar downstairs served complimentary drinks, and complimentary snacks were served throughout the day. It's close to several little gorcery stores as well, so you can buy whatever you need at a reasonable price. The Winterhaven was a great value and I would recommend it to any traveller without caveat. Score 4 out of 5 Great location susan, Denver, CO, 2006-10-24 Lots of shopping all around this hotelThe location for the Winter Haven was fantastic. You were in walking distance for resturants, night clubs, and shops. The staff is very friendly and helpfull. The rooms however were very small. Score 3 out of 5 Great Potential Anonymous, 2006-10-11 Multitude of dining and entertainment a short walk away. The hotel was located within an easy walk of South Beach attractions and across from beach. The interior of the hotel while clean, is dreary and worn out. Redecorating it could make it quite nice. Stained carpets were a turn off. The room was small, but adequate. The staff was very friendly and helpful, especially the bellman who was outstanding in meeting our requests. Score 4 out of 5 Great Hotel, Great Staff tremayne, New York, NY, 2006-10-10 Lunch time is the best time to catch all the deals at the local restaurants.Although there was construction going on during my vist the inside of hte hotel was nice. The rooms were not too small and the hotel up keep was excellent. The cleaning lady was on time every morning without questions. The hotel, room, bathrooms, everything was very clean and the location could not be better. On Ocean right across from the beach and close to everything. My only complaint was that although they provided a great continental breakfast consisting of fresh bagels, cereal, juice, coffee, and self made waffles, which was your more than most hotels, they also added on a $5 dollar a day charge, not bad but had to find something to complain about. All in all i had a great stay. Friendly staff. Already making plans to stay there next year. Score 5 out of 5 Great Hotel Greg, Chicago, IL, 2006-08-24 everything you would want is within walking distance.I was very surprised by this hotel, in a good way. The room was very nice and large for Miami hotel rooms. Recently updated, I wanted to take the bed home with me. I will stay here again and recommend this hotel to friends. Score 4 out of 5 Very cozy selena, New York, NY, 2006-08-07 Go to your happy hour if one, many promoters from ,local clubs come around with discount tickets and bands.I had a great time, the rooms were not as big as I expected, but none the less comfortable and clean. It was steps away from the beach, and literally wlaking distance, from all of the nightlife. The hotel had a great happy hour from 6-7pm and the bartender was the greatest, he practically gave me every good insider tips on the "in places" to be. The staff was extremely courteous and met all of my needs. Defintinely thumbs up! Score 5 out of 5 Excellent location Joan, Atlanta, GA, 2006-07-14 Great dining either on Ocean Drive or around the corner on Lincoln AvenueNearly in the center of Ocean Drive, easy walk to everything, beach access and beach house directly across the street...the rooms are small but comfortable, staff was very helpful...would definitely visit again. |
