Staff was helpful and friendly but room was rather small and the bathroom was even smaller. Our view was the wall of the hotel next to us. Bed was nice and linens were good as well. Let's be honest- when vacationing in South Beach, who stays in the room very long when there is so much to do, anyways? Breakfast is included along with beach towels, and the staff works hard to accomodate any requests. They let us check out late free of charge and were gracious enough to let us use a hotel shower/restroom late on our last day to clean up after the beach before our trip home. Overall, a good value and location- I would recommend this hotel for quick Miami getaways. (It's also right next to a modelling agency which means you see beautiful people walking in and out all day...) Score 5 out of 5 Very friendly service Anonymous The beach is just a short walk across Ocean Drive. The News Cafe is great for breakfast. You'll find lots of locals there. There are a ton of restaurants for dinner within walking distance--a great Italian restaurant around Ocean and 12th.This is the fourth time I have stayed at the Beacon. Every time I have stayed there the staff has been courteous and helpful. The rooms are very nice and clean. The beds are some of the most comfortable I have ever slept in. I know some people like ocean view rooms, but I prefer the others because they are quieter. Ocean rooms are on Ocean Drive, and I have stayed at other hotels where the noise continued till 3am. The location can not be beaten. You are on Ocean Drive in South Beach. All you do is walk across the street to get to the beach. And there are tons of great restaurants and clubs within walking distance. There is absolutely no need to rent a car if you are staying at the Beacon. I can't recommend the Beacon enough. The amenities are great(be sure to request a corner beach view room) with a large bed complete with a mound of monogramed pillows, flat screen TV, and even nice soaps and shampoos that you might not use in other hotels. The bathroom is small, but they all are in South Beach. Service is great, with no attitude & you can't beat the location if you are looking to be in the center of the scene. The hotel has been updated yet the old time charm has been maintained. The room I had was spacious and I like the fact that it is on the 4th floor. The morning coffee served on the 2nd floor is my wake up routine. The Beach is across the street and the sea breeze is what I enjoy the most of this trip. The room was very clean but the bathroom was small. The electrical ooutlets bothered me when trying to use my computer because they are ancient and don't hold plugs well. Overall, the Beacon Hotel is clean, has a great location, very accomodating staff and very good food! I will stay there again (and soon!)
