However, at the actual location in Melbourne, I felt slightly unsafe. The room itself was fine, but the outer hallways and stairwells were filled with odor. Was informed that they did not have a lower room and no elevator. Did not have a clock in my room but fortunately did receive a wake up call as needed. Had an early flight and the night clerk is locked securely behind a glass pass thru. Left my key and learned that it was to early for even a cup of coffee and of course no juice muffin or bagel available. Although I paid for the stay, I actually booked into another hotel. It was not clean and had a tremendous cigarette smell. I think the description of the hotel was misleading and did not think it was safe for me as a single female senior citizen traveling alone. I liked the fact that the bathroom was separate from the vanity area and there was a sink with a long counter and there was adequate space for hanging clothes. The location was near downtown Melbourne on Main Street. The reception desk was helpful with questions we had. They seemed to keep things in good repair. I would definitely stay there again--the price was good and the location was adequate for our needs. It was a ways from the Coast but suitable for our needs. |
