In your room they have menus for 4 or 5 different places that deliver late night and are located right next to both a Denny's and A Friday's. They are also a short ride from Universal's Citywalk. The rooms were very clean as well. There are not alot of amenities but it is a great value hotel. The cleanliness of the room was great. I slept like a baby. I especially enjoyed the free continental breakfast. I didn't have to leave the hotel to eat. The location of the hotel is near many restaurants to choose from. Score 5 out of 5 Really Convenient for Universal/Islands Park Luis, Fort Lauderdale, FL, 2006-02-12 Right after the free continental breakfast, we had a very short - perhaps one mile drive to the parking lot of Universal Studios.First, this hotel is conveniently located near Universal Studios & Islands of Adventure! The hotel has a very spacious lobby, the service was really great. When I inquired about dinner shows the check-in desk gracefully made the reservations and provided discounted tickets right on the spot. The rooms were comfortable and quiet, and the free continental breakfast, which included freshly made waffles, saved me and my family some $$$. I did mention that this hotel is conveniently located - it is adjacent to a numer of well known and really good restaurants. We will definetly be returning. Score 5 out of 5 good place to stay if visiting attractions Anonymous, 2005-12-28 Universal studio is less than a mile from this hotelthis place was cose the the attractions in Orlanda. the rooms were clean and it was very quite, o good place to get a good nights sleep after a full day at the attractions Score 2 out of 5 This place 'stinks' ... literally Anonymous, 2005-10-30 They stated they were 1/2 mile away from Universal ... to the entrance off the boulevard. It was more like 1 1/2 miles to get to the pedestrian entrance. Be forewarned, if you're hiking with children with short legs ... make sure you ask the distance on foot to a real park entry.As soon as you left the lobby, there was a funky smell throughout the rest of the hotel. The lone elevator smelled like a dirty gym. Our non-smoking room had a funk about it that would not go away. I kept the air on just mask the odor. Fortunately, we were gone from about 9 am to 11 pm every day. At check-in at 1:00 am, the young man basically called me stupid because I had difficulties with the door key. Another night, I lost money in their drink machine, and the staff acted like it was my fault ... a true inconvenience to deal with their guests. There was never anyone working the 'concierge/tourist desk'. I found all the desk staff to be lacking skills to work with the public. The breakfast was less than inspired - everything was on the cheap for sure. The morning we left ... at 5 am, I discovered trash on the floor behind a trash can by the serving area that had been there who knows how long ... we were the first ones up so I know it wasn't from that morning. It just spoke 'neglect'. I then went into the lobby ladies room and was disgusted. I couldn't believe how filthy the toilet was ... guess they didn't think about cleaning it, that week ... month? I will never go back, and would not recommend it to anyone. The locale is very convenient, but better management with higher standards needs to be in place. Score 4 out of 5 old Anonymous, Gainesville, FL, 2005-10-06 Millenium Mall is about 5 minutes away with great restaurants and shopping.La Quinta in Orlando is very old, rooms are small, bath tub curtains were old and needed to be replaced. Hotel check-in was fast but not as friendly as other La Quintas I have been too. I probably would not return to this hotel or recommend to others. |
