Score 4 out of 5 Staff extremely friendly and helpful Linda, 2006-05-23 Ocean Walk Shopping is a short drive (parking garage $1!!. Ate at Bubba Gumps and had the best ribs I ever had.The staff was very friendly and helpful. Location good and pool nice. There was major construction, so a lot of inconvenience getting to pool & beach, but tolerable. The weekend there was no work in progress, so it was quiet, but during the week the noise was unbearable in our room. We asked to move and they readily accomodated us. The other room was still noisy, but bearable. I think the weekdays it should be closed or DRASTICALLY reduced until construction is complete. There was a sign that said construction rates, but they weren't cheap enough to make up for the construction (sounded like a jackhammer over our heads). We would definitely stay again after the construction is done because everyone was great otherwise. Score 5 out of 5 Very family friendly Kathleen, Syracuse, NY, 2006-04-25 The hotel was right on the beach. There was a miniature golf place across the street. A shopping center with a post office up the street. And some gift shops across the street. It had a nice restaurant and bar. Their pizza was delicious. The Castaways Beach Resort was a very nice place to stay. We enjoyed our room with the ocean view, balcony and full kitchen. And the staff was very friendly and helpful. The resort was going through a major renovation project and there was some construction noise from 8am till 4pm on the week days. But we enjoyed the beach and the swimming pool while the construction workers were doing their job. I am sure once the renovations are done, people will really like staying at the Castaways Beach Resort. We loved it despite the construction work going on. And we would probably stay there again. We were at the resort from April 19th till April 25th 2006. Also the best thing of all, the beach is outside the back door. The staff on certain shifts are very friendly and will assist you with anything you need. Some of the staff members are stuck in there discriminatory ways and might upset some visitors. The rooms are pretty spacious and clean, and the beds are comfortable. The resturant was always closed but the bar is always open. The menu sounds good, wish i could have tasted something. If you can ignore ignorance, this will be a nice place to stay. If you can't don't go. Score 4 out of 5 Basic Daytona James, Albany, NY, 2005-12-18 The hotel is quiet, seemed safe and was in great location. The beach is still beat from the hurricanes. It was way too cold but the pool looked GREAT. |
