Most recent user reviewsScore 4 out of 5 no frills Anonymous, Jacksonville, FL I travel each month to Miami. There are certain restaurants I prefer. The Aqua was conveniently located to these amenities. The room's concrete floor was interesting. I will stay there again. Score 5 out of 5 Great Location for the Money Anonymous, 2007-03-07 This hotel was within walking distance to everything you'd want to do/see in South Beach. It was very clean and the staff was friendly. Score 5 out of 5 Fun hotel Anonymous, Chicago, IL, 2006-06-25 Beach is right across the street, many bars in area. This hotel is great.Very colorful and fun, would recommend to just about anyone. Score 2 out of 5 Good location but not up to Miami Standards Greg, New York, NY, 2006-04-23 Tequilla Chicas. Great happy hours and only a stine throw away! Its this simple. A decent location and very close to the beach but, not all that I was expecting. The so called Art Deco image was just too plain for me. It had cement floors. Enough said. Bathroom was very minimal and the paint was peeling. Wouldn't stay here again unless someone paid for it. Score 5 out of 5 Review Anonymous, New York, NY, 2006-04-03 Also you can find shopping areas and beachesScore 4 out of 5 Great Location & Room for the price. Help is not as hot as the weather. Mike, Chicago, IL, 2006-03-26 Located in the Art Deco District - 5 minute walk to the beach. Underground parking lot is right across the street, tell the parking attendents your a guest of a hotel and would like in and out privlages and they will give you a pass that lets you in and out but only charges you once a day.The Aqua hotel was nice but lacked somethings here and there. The location is by far the best part easy to access the beach, food and nightlife within a few blocks. The rooms have cement floors - however they are coated with a finish. The beds were comfortable, free internet access in the room (if u have a laptop with wireless connector), nice sink and bathroom with seperate mirror counter area, and refridgerator. Each day room was cleaned and picked up efficently. Also very large closet with safe, lockable dresser, ironing board and iron. Overall the rooms were sleekly designed and decorated. I would say B+ on the room. The hotel also has a nice little sundeck that overlooked collins avenue and a tropical environment between the two buildings filled with trees, plants and a small hot tub. At night they also lit torches and candles in this area which was nice to walk through. There are also chairs provided to lounge in this area. The lobby was also very sleek and decoarted to the theme. Theming was definetly an Grade A Things I did not like: At night no staff member could be found. Anyone could walk in or out without question, and no one was ever available for help at the front desk. The front desk and bar were often unstaffed which made me wonder if any staff were on duty at all. No ATM was also on property. The rooms still utilize a room key instead of the key card. The key is kind of bulky, I enjoy using the key cards because they fit in my wallet easily vs the key in my pocket. There was no vending machines at all on property. There is a bar in the lobby area but they sold nothing to eat and again was hardly ever staffed. They have a small drive way filled with cars which you can negotiate with the front desk staff to rent the spot for a day. The guy wanted a high price for the day, however there is a self park parking lot across the street for $20 a day which I used. I would have like to have just used it durring check in to drop off my luggage but couldn't do that. Also the water was shut off one morning with out notice for several hours. If you want a good valued, sized and equiped room in a nicely kept hotel with easy to access parking in a prime location, this is it. However, if your one who depends on the hotel's staff/customer service a lot please be aware of the inconsistency of their availability. Overall Grade B Score 5 out of 5 Very friendly and everything was great violet, Washington, DC, 2005-12-26 Every activity there was in walking distance and the beach was right there.Every one was great and very helpful. They gave a lot of suggestion on activites and eating places. Score 4 out of 5 Great deal for the money Anonymous, Washington, DC, 2005-06-05 Definitely a great deal for the money. The hotel room was clean but a bit outdated as well as the bathroom. The floors were concrete...no carpeting so you couldnt go without shoes. Great location and a great staff (including the front desk staff as well as housekeeping). It was a cute hotel. I would stay there again. When we first stepped into our room it felt a bit uncomfortable but it didnt take much to get used to it and settle in. The staff was great in providing us with anything that we needed. I would definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Miami with friends. It may not be a place that you would want to stay with family but a good spot to crash inbetween the beach, sightseeing, and clubbing with your friends. Score 1 out of 5 Very Dissatisfied Michelle, Philadelphia, PA, 2005-05-31 I went to this hotel expecting pool(the name Aqua) and a double occupancy room. I recieved neither. The room was a single with queen size bed, cement floors, and bathroom old needing repairs. Score 4 out of 5 Aqua Hotel Derek, St Louis, MO, 2005-05-18 Great Location. Free breakfast, wireless internet, bed is not comfortable. Pretty much the only downside of the hotel was the bed and bathroom. Everything else was fine. |
