Most recent user reviewsScore 1 out of 5 Unpleasant stay Anonymous The Days Inn was not a pleasant stay for my husband & I. The toilet overflowed leaving fecal matter all over & it made our room smell discusting. We tried to go use the public bathroom & we got stuck in the elevator. The elevator was not working properly. We never knew if we would make it to our desired floor or not. All in all it was not a very desirable stay in the hotel. Score 3 out of 5 Review Anonymous No review provided by user Score 5 out of 5 location Cora, Newark, NJ close enough to port and airportVery nice location beautiful beach and pool, nice outdoor bar and food service. Room itself was just Okay, the bath room needed work and the water did not drain properly in shower and left yopu standing in a foot of water. We really looked forward to our return trip to stay there again on the way back. The pool was great the service was excellent and it was right on the ocean. It has everything that makes a great vacation. Score 1 out of 5 Not reccomended Anonymous, 2006-03-16 Walk anywhere. It's beautiful. Almost every bank's represented on 42 st so don't go to an ATM other than yours or you'll incur fees. The Days Inn Oceanside is in a pretty good location, right on the beach BUT the stay was a desaster from the start. Our electric keys broke every time we left the room. One elevater closed on everyone and the other never closed. The lamp in our room did not work. The television was broken. The first day our water would not turn on for hours and when I called thaey said oh yeah, something broke so we shut off the water with no information about when it'd be on again. One day we asked the the cleaning woman to return in ten minutes and she came back seven hours later and wouldn't clean our room because we were there. We were treated badly by two of the people at the desk who we somehow always ended up getting stuck talking to. We had to pay seven dollars to rent beach chairs for a few hours and they were all broken and duct taped and dirty. The pool is out of shade only between 4 and 4:30 pm. THe only good things were the location, the bar by the pool and the hut that sold snacks on the beach. Score 1 out of 5 Needs to be updated Anonymous, 2006-02-13 BoardwalkThe Days Inn Oceanside has a great location but needs serious updating to the rooms. The room appeared dark and gloomy and needed to be updated. The bathroom looked dirty but not sure if it was dirt, mold or needed to be painted. Chose to stay down the street at the Fairfield Inn the 2nd night of our trip. Much nicer and had a breakfast bar on site. In addition, Courtyard by Marriot was close by providing other eating options. Score 2 out of 5 frustrating and incompetant barbara, New York, NY, 2005-12-03 The hotel is right on the beach which is nice. It is a $10 cab ride to get to the historic Deco District where there are good restaurants and sites to see.The hotel had a number of things that needed repair; one of the two elevators was broken. It was very slow to go up and down. Almost everyday my key did not work and I had to go down to the desk to get a new keycard. They had the reservation dates wrong and there was some arguing about my checkout. The phone in my room did not work. The wireless connection was very weak. It only worked sporadically. The vending machines were always out of water. Even tho I reported all of these things, nothing was fixed during my 5 day stay. The people working at the hotel were courteous, but seemed incompetant when it came to any problems. I would never stay there again. Score 4 out of 5 Review Anonymous, Boston, MA, 2005-09-03 No review provided by user Score 2 out of 5 No Costumer Service Anonymous, 2005-07-18 During my stay at the hotel, I confronted different problems that were never resolved by the hotel staff. One of the beds was broken and it was never fixed during my stay. The batteries in the control remote for the TV were not good. I called the front desk several times; however, the problem was never fixed. In addition, the key to my room kept getting disactivated and I had to go to the front desk many times to get it activated. Finally, the hotel staff were not friendly at all. Therefore, I believe that the hotel is not really concerned about costumer comfort or service. |
