We chose to use the hotel for convenience and you could use the car all day w/o extra charge for going in and out as much as you wanted. Taxis are pricey & if you go out of the area for diner, parking is pricey and not easy to find.Lovely and stylish this hotel is conveniently located near all the main sites. A fun bar and trendy restaurant compliment the decor and offer nice food options but limited and pricey. No breakfast was included which was a drawback, so we ordered room service which increased our cost nor do I think there was a place to serve it. No pool or whirlpool for relaxation was also a drawback, especially with all of the walking we did. Over all we enjoyed ourselves and had fun. Checking in was long. The hotel wanted to block out another $375 for extra expenses on my credit card, a little obnoxious even though I know it is a regular practice. The staff was very friendly and helpful. You had to ask for tourist info though. They never asked if we were visiting for business or pleasure even though it was the weekend. Staff was young but very polite. I'd like to go again if they increased amenities and I would defenitely go to another Kimpton Hotel. You feel hip and upbeat the whole time. Score 5 out of 5 Great Location chris, Minneapolis, MN, 2006-02-20 short walk to capital , Dubliner restaurant around the corner, Union Station has access to transportation, tours and large food court.Hotel George was excellent accomodations! The location was easy to get to Capital and Union Station. The neighborhood was safe. Union Station is only a couple blocks away and is easy place to start your tours from of the city. Hotel Staff was friendly. Very Clean and rooms are updated. I am never disappointed when I stay at this hotel chain for work/pleasure!
