Named after the capitol's city planner, Pierre Charles L'Enfant, this hotel shares the same graciousness that distinguishes Washington D.C. From the airy lobby to the year-round rooftop pool, it truly has it all. Located right at the Metro stop "L'Enfant Plaza" with connections to all metro lines, it's the closest hotel to the Smithsonian Castle and only steps away from the Air and Space Museum, the Mall, National Gallery of Art, Holocaust Museum and The Vietnam War Memorial. Take time to visit outdoor sculpture gardens, try kite flying on the mall, boating on the Potomac, high-end shopping at Georgetown and more. The key to making it through the day, whether negotiating business or maps of the area's attrractions, is having a relaxing, spacious lodging to return to. The hotel provides that luxury and more in our featured rooms. Since the guests come from all over the world, every aspect of this hotel, including food selections, to be familiar to guests no matter how far they are from home. That is why the menus offer entrees that range in style from Mediterranean to Asian to American.
Most recent user reviewsScore 4 out of 5 Room shift Robert Don't plan on using the pool. It was horrible. We were put in a room where there was maintinance work going on directly above us. When we called to complain, they knew exactly what we were complaining about and moved us. They really should not have put us in that first room at all since they know this work was going to be going on. We eat dinner in the restaurant and it was great. Also the bar tender in the Foggy Bottom Brew Pub was very nice. Score 2 out of 5 Circumstances made for a bad stay Gayle, Boston, MA, 2006-11-19 very convienent to all the attractions. The roof next to our window was being renovated not only on Sat. AM at 6:00 but SUNDAY as well. Can't say I would go back. Score 5 out of 5 Great Location Claudia, San Francisco, CA, 2006-10-23 Starbucks in lobby. Sandwich, pastry and coffee shop belowThe hotel is undergoing some updgrading that it needs, since bathrooms are in some disrepair. The location of this hotel is superb. There is actually a metro stop right at its door step with a small convenience mall down below, making a car unnessary. Also direct stop to the RR airpoirt. Pool also was undergoing renovation. The halls need repainting and new carpeting. The rooms were large and comfortable. Hotel staff could offer more tourist info. Most quarters accessible by metro. Capitol Mall one block away. The only problem is that it is difficult to find in DC. DC is not driver friendly. Also, a short taxi drive to Gallery Place where we were having dinner. A lovely older hotel with lots of character. I would stay there again. I loved the pillows on the bed more than anything. They were soft and fluffy. My flight got in late so I had a late check in. The hotel staff did not give me a hard time with that as some hotels do. Score 5 out of 5 Conveinent Location Anonymous, 2006-07-07 At intersection of Yellow, Green, Orange, and Blue Metro lines--conveinent from airport. The room was comfortable and had a great view of the Washington Mall. On top of a Metro station, so easy access to public transportation. Score 5 out of 5 DC trip sally, Charleston, SC, 2006-06-11 Access to the Metro is right under the hotel, making travel to the airport and throughout the city very easy and inexpensive.Having lived in DC during college and visited for conferences, I was very excited about taking my 16-year old son there for a vacation. The L'Enfant Plaza Hotel certainly exceeded his expectations, and met mine! It was very important to me that this trip felt special to him, that we really WENT somewhere. The hotel staff was delightful and helpful; My son felt like a prince in his big, very comfortable bed. The food we ordered through room service was mediocre, but when we ate at the restaurant the following night, it was marvelous. The service was impeccable - I wish I could remember our server's name, he was terrific. We asked for modifications to our selections, which were accommodated without a problem, and the results were absolutely delicious. |
