Fitness Room Problem

Stuart, Newark, NJ

Their exercise room is actually a free pass to the YMCA in the building across 17th Street. The problem with that is that when it's cold outside one freezes to and from the Y when wearing one's exercise clothes. My other complaint is that their free breakfast is the skimpiest of continental breakfasts. Not really worth anything I thought. But the price of the room was a good value by itself. The bed (a king) was comfortable and the TV with cable worked fine.

I will be back!

matthew, Cleveland, OH

The Beacon was clean and in a great location. Very close to the Metro (3 or 4 blocks), restaurants, and shops. The staff at the front desk was very attentive and helpful upon check-in/out. The restaurant in the hotel had great food and a fair price. The Beacon will be my first choice for my next visit to Washington D.C.

very comfortable hotel

Walking distance to the Phillips Museum and the Metro stop.

We were delighted with the Beacon Hotel. The lobby was small, but the room was enormous, with a separate sitting-room/dining alcove. Similarly, the bathroom had a separate vanity area, allowing two people to use the facilities without loss of privacy. The diningroom was excellent, with a wonderful staff. (The waitress remembered our breakfast order the second day we were there!) Overall, it was a very nice way to visit DC. We recommend it heartily.

Is it close to all the historical attractions, close to the metro so you can dine in another area, very centrally located to all.

I really enjoyed the hotel, the room was wonderful, service was outstanding, location was prime, and I would stay there again.

Good Hotel

Stayed here for two nights. Nothing special, but certainly a step up from the average hotel. I would stay here again. We had a great view too.

Very Professional, Courtous & Responsive Staff

Robert, Knoxville, TN, 2007-02-23

In the middle of everything, wonderful for a late night walk around the sights of the DC area!

The hotel was very comfortable, and the staff-from the valet to the housekeepers were extremely friendly and professional. They were and are a credit to the industry and take great pride in the services they provide. I would gladly stay there again and again. I have absolutely NO negative comments about the hotel, it's staff or the services rendered.

Not what I expected

Anonymous, Detroit, MI, 2007-02-12

I found the staff to be courteous and accomadating. The beds were comfortable. Adjoining restaurant was convenient. My bathroom was close and uncomfortable. No refrigerator or Microwave available after kitchen closed. Coffee pot was stored on top of the television. We had to place the coffee pot on the floor to make coffee. The cord was not long enough to reach the socket when I placed the coffee pot on small table in the room. While I had a nice view into the street, the location near "round-about", was noisy with sirens during the night.

accessible and well located

Anonymous, Newark, NJ, 2007-02-08

Short walk (several blocks) from the DuPont Circle Metro station.

The Beacon is a well-appointed business hotel, good location vis-a-vis DuPont Circle and the area. Nice features in the room (tho' it did lack an ice bucket).
