High-fashion designer d'cor and special amenities of the luxurious Hotel Rouge infuse guests with an insatiable desire for Playful Interaction. The "Living Room" lobby, designed by Michael Moore and inspired by Coco Chanel's Parisian Residence, sets the stage each evening for the hosted wine hour, where guests are invited to mingle, play games, people-watch or just relax on the leather oversized couch and "Alice in Wonderland" high- backed chair. Weekend mornings are celebrated "The Rouge Way" with cold pizza and Bloody Marys. The lobby design takes you off the typical streets of Washington, DC and brings you into a world of glamour and playfulness.
Bar Rouge continues the cool urban setting. Guests are as comfortable in jeans as they would be in an Armani suit. Sink into one of the high backed red velvet chairs, enjoy a unique cocktail and take in the artwork that fills the walls of Bar Rouge.
Guests will also find this boutique hotel's signature red-hot chic style in the 137 luxury guestrooms. Hotel Rouge is Washington DC's most adventurous hotel. The atmosphere is playful, interactive, high-tech and glamorous. The red rooms are stylish and luxurious, appealing to the individual seeking innovation in travel. The guestrooms are accented with vibrant red velvet curtains, floor-to-ceiling red faux leather headboards, and genie lamps with red silk shades. Each room is equipped for relaxation with Aveda bath products, crisp Frette linens, plush animal print robes and in-room spa services that vary from skin-refining facials to hot stone massages. Flat-screen televisions, Sony CD stereos, and complimentary high-speed Internet all ensure your stay will be as exciting as it is comfortable. Hotel Rouge also features Kimpton's Forgot-It, We've Got It program, where toiletry items that you may have left at home are complimentary provided for you.
Most recent user reviewsScore 5 out of 5 My review of Hotel Rouge - a Kimpton Hotel Anonymous, Cleveland, OH, 2006-10-29 short walk to Dupont Circle/ full bars and restaurantsgreat price for great hotel Score 2 out of 5 Review Anonymous, Miami, FL, 2006-10-27 The room was not properly decorated, it look like a meeting room where they've thown a bed in, the bathroom was tinny, the light where flourecent lights forthe room (the coldes type of light available) Score 5 out of 5 Girls Weekend KELLY, Chicago, IL, 2006-10-16 This is a quirky, fun hotel. The neighborhood is very nice, and the hotel is a short walk to the Metro. Staff is very nice. Great experience! Score 5 out of 5 Fun and funky atmosphere Amanda, New York, NY, 2006-10-08 There were great restaurants about five or six blocks away on Dupont Circle. We happened upon a great bookstore/cafe named Kramerbooks & Afterwords Cafe on Connecticut where the food was fabulous. The Hotel Rouge was such a wonderful departure from the normal, ho-hum travel routine. First, the decor is fabulous with eye-catching shades of red, black and white. I really loved the living room of the lobby and the bar with their unique and modern funky furniture and hopping atmosphere. The bedroom was even better with lots of space, a great sitting area and a nice desk with free high-speed internet access. Unexpected amenities such as cozy robes and umbrellas to be used while visiting also added major comfort to my visit. The only downsides are that the hotel is on the pricey side, the fitness room is pretty tiny with an old treadmill and the elevators are too dark. Several times, my companion and others had problems seeing the floor numbers. If the elevators are going to be dark, the panels need to be lit. But those aren't major gripes. Overall, I loved the hotel and hope to stay there or elsewhere in the chain sometime soon. Score 5 out of 5 very nice accommodations Barbara, Houston, TX, 2006-07-17 Whole Foods supermarket nearby with buffet foods inside and sit down accommodations.Staff was very friendly and helpful. Hotel was very clean and quiet. Decorated very nicely. Located within walking distance of various sightseeing highlights. |
