The room was acceptable. The staff was courteous. For the price, there should have been some kind of lobby continental breakfast.

Howard johnsons in Groton was in a remote area which we expected to be very displeased with. We were wrong, it was quiet, clean and very cozy. Our stay was just over night but it waas pouring rain the day we came in and stayed in the room all the way till check out the next day...there were many delivery options offered to dine in , which we did. Everyone was friendly. would recommend it to anyone going to mystic or foxwoods, it is only minutes away

Applebee's was near, good service. (we had a party of 14)

It was ouside of town, nothing really within walking distance. Not to mention, there was a sex shop right behind the hotel

Mall is closed by 6:00 pm

We had a hard time getting back from the casino that night but we arrived to the hotel we had a good night sleep after .room sizes are great! Beds are extremely comfortable!

Suited our purpose

Nothing in walking distance, no notable public transportation.

Very convenient for our purpose. Complimentary breakfast was fresh and convenient. Well maintained facility and room, clean and serviced daily. SMALL AMOUNT OF COFFEE IN ROOM. One (of two) soda machine empty... desk clerk knew it, but unmarked. "Typical" Howard Johnson... No complaint. Perhaps more of the support staff (family?) can get a better grasp of the English language.

Friendly Check-In

Had a great steak and gorgonzolla cheese salad at restaurant next door, Sneekers.

Having stayed at a Providence Hotel the night before where the check-in clerks were not at all personable, this was a pleasant surprise. The clerk also directed us to several nearby restaurants. We went to one of those (called Sneekers) and found it very good and reasonably priced. We would return there again.

The Hotel was clean, and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Even though they do not have a pool a nice place were you could have sat out and enjoyed the nice weather would have been great. I felt like we had to either be in our room or go find a park if we wanted to be outside at all.

Not so friendly service

The Howard Johnson in Groton, CT. is a nice place to stay if your by yourself and make no noise. I do not reccomend this hotel it's not worth the money. The walls are paper thin and the staff is very rude. My husband is in the Navy and stationed in groton. My cousin and I drove 8hrs up to visit him, & a few sailor friends of his. We got two complaints about the noise coming from our room, by the staff walking around, and we wasn't being loud, it was only 5 in the afternoon. We had to whisper the rest of the evening, the staff walks by the rooms to see how loud the noise level is. Needless to say we checked out the next morning and went to the Super 8 in groton for the rest of our weekend, where we had no problems at all.
