great location, spacious rooms

Anonymous, Orange County, CA

A dedicated chair lift to Vail Mountain is 50 feet from the hotel rooms.

vert nice, good size room, close to ski lifts, frequent shuttle bus into Vail Village. Staff was not well trained or as attentive as one would expect for the price. Our room was over the restaurant which played music (classical) one night beginning at 3 a.m. and two other nights at 6 a.m. Service was not as good as in previous visits.

Well appointed rooms

michelle

There are numerous wonderful shops near the hotel in Vail Village that can be accessed via the free shuttle.

The Vail Cascade Resort and Spa was a lovely hotel with lavish furnishings and comfy rooms. The personal touches were also a treat, custom made shampoos and soaps were a nice touch. There are no vending machines or soda machines in the hotel, though, and a can of soda was $1.50, and a candy bar $3. The concierge was very helpful, while the doormen were not. We had to park quite a distance from our room, and since we chose to self park ($15), verses valet park ($20), we had to carry all of our own bags and were not allowed to take a baggage cart to our vehicle. The claim of ski in- ski out is a joke. You can take a chair lift midway up the mountain, but there are no runs back to the hotel. Fortunately they have a free shuttle that makes frequent stops around the village and we were able to ride that back to the hotel. While the experience of staying in such a high end hotel was enjoyable in some ways, the nickel and diming effect got old quick.

The entire staff was polite, friendly and very accomodating. The service was excellent. The beds were the most comfortable with plush pillow tops too!

Winter Dream Spot

This would be the perfect place for a ski vacation. It may be a little pricey but it is at the bottom of the slopes which can't be beat.

Year-round delightful meeting venue

Marion, Denver, CO, 2006-04-14

We enjoyed dinner with adults and teens at the nearby cook-it-yourself steak-house, the Minturn Country Club. It is one freeway exit down the road--perhaps a 10 minute drive away from the glitz of Vail.

Vail brings to mind great skiing but the Vail Cascade Resort and Spa should prompt thoughts of a delightful year-round meeting venue. It comes with a chair-lift to Lionshead for ski-in, ski-out conveninece; several hot-tubs conveniently supplied with plump towels within easy access to the hotel rooms, as well as excellent meeting facilities and a great spa. The decor is tasteful in both the low-end and the high-end rooms which are beautifully furnished. We had a perfect evening in the room and a good night's sleep.

Hotel with everything

Paul, Denver, CO, 2005-10-03

make sure to eat at Chap's restaurant and check out Vail village

This hotel is a 4 star hotel, but operates like a 5 star, offering many amenities and personal service. It also has one of the best restaurants in the Vail Valley area, making for excellent room service. The hotel should offer free wireless internet service, rather than having guests pay for the high speed ethernet connection.

Great Grounds

Anonymous, Phoenix, AZ, 2005-09-12

Vail Village is great.

This Vail Cascade has curb appeal!! The hotel is slighlty older and becuase of this their rooms have no AC. Chap's is great. I would reccomend this hotel if you do not plan to spend alot of time in your room but enjoying the hotel and surrounding areas.

Show me the money

Don't stay here!!!

Don't depend on receiving top notch custmer service at the Vail Cascade Resort. You can spend $200-$400 per night to get wrong directions to your room; Rude and delayed service at the dining room; a T.V. and telephone that don't work. But they do have free dog bisquits and jelly beans! Very dissatisfied!!
