WE ENJOYED IT SO MUCH WE ATE THERE 3 TIMES. THE FOOD WAS ARTISTICALLY PRESENTED AND OH SO---DELECIOUS. THE WINE LIST WAS MOST COMPREHENSIVE. MY FAVORITE WAS THE SCALLOPS, AKI TUNA AND THE CHOLATE CONE WITH SORBET AND ICE CREAM.I LOVED THE SHORT 1 MINUTE WALK TO THE TICKET BOOTH AND THE SLOPES. THE PEOPLE I ENJOYED MEETING IN THE APRE' SKI POOL WERE WONDERFUL. THE COMPLIMENTARY COOKIES AND BEVERAGES IN THE LOBBY ,AS WELLAS THE CONTINUOUS ROARING FIRE WERE A WELCOME ADDITION. I HOPE DEFINATELY TO RETURN HERE. Score 4 out of 5 My review of The Grand Lodge Crested Butte Anonymous, 2006-07-21 The old village of Crested Butte is close - down the hill from the hotel. It is a very quaint looking town with numerous great restaurants & shops. A wonderful town to walk around & admire the beautiful flowers & colorfully painted old homes. It is friendly & laid back, & very enjoyable to visit & "hang out" for awhile. This hotel is nice and we enjoyed our stay. The location is good, & parking should be fine most of the time. Due to a great deal of construction because it is summer at a ski area, parking was a bit awkward/limited while we were there. The room was clean & comfortable, however, it was very warm. Despite the fact that there were extra fans to use in addition to the ceiling fans, it was quite warm in our room. We were only there one day & there is so much to do in the area, that we did not use the fitness center, pool, etc., nor did we eat at the hotel. Score 5 out of 5 very convenient with great amenities Anonymous, 2006-04-09 The town of Crested Butte is 3 miles away, and a free shuttle runs continuously until midnight. The town itself is a very picturesque old mining town and has some great little shops and restaurants. We particularly enjoyed our dinner at The Gourmet Noodle on Third Street. The Grand Lodge is a very short walk to the base area and lifts and also to the free shuttle into the town of Crested Butte. The "room" turned out to be almost a small apartment. There was a separate sitting area with sleeper sofa, table & chairs, a 2nd TV, and a kitchenette with refrigerator, microwave, a single cooktop, a coffeepot, and a dishwasher. The sleeping area had a king-size bed and a TV and was next to the bathroom. After skiing there was a very active and social pool and spa area. Activity continued into the evening, when there was also an outdoor fireplace for people to gather around. The hours are 7AM to 11PM, so it is even possible to take a swim or loosen up in the hottub before skiing. |
