During your Denver vacation, don't miss these great establishments and attractions:
Colorado State Capitol
Built to last 1,000 years, the capitol was constructed in 1886 of granite from a Colorado quarry. The dome, which rises 272 feet above the ground, was first sheathed in copper, then replaced with gold leaf after a public outcry: Copper was not a Colorado product.Murals depicting the history of water in the state adorn the walls of the first-floor rotunda, which offers a splendid view upward to the underside of the dome. The rotunda resembles the layout of the U.S. Capitol in Washington, D.C. South of the rotunda is the governor's office, paneled in walnut and lit by a massive chandelier. On the first floor, the west lobby hosts revolving temporary exhibits. To the right of the main lobby is the governor's reception room. The second floor has main entrances to the House, Senate, and old Supreme Court chambers. On the third floor are entrances to the public and visitor galleries for the House and Senate (open to the public during legislative session from January through early May).
Children's Museum of Denver
Denver's best hands-on experience for children, this intriguing museum is both educational and just plain fun. Focusing on the zero-to-8 age bracket, the museum uses educational "playscapes" to entertain and activate young minds.New playscapes for 2004 are "Fire Station No. 1," which teaches safety with such exhibits as a real fire engine, and "Community Market," a faux supermarket that allows kids to role-play as shoppers and clerks. There are several other playscapes with themes ranging from biology to engineering. There's also a resource center that provides parenting information to adults. And a cafe that serves sandwiches, snacks, and beverages. Allow at least 2 hours.
Six Flags Elitch Gardens Theme Park
A Denver tradition established in 1889, this amusement park moved to its present downtown site in 1995. The 45-plus rides include Twister II, an unbelievable 10-story roller coaster with a 90-foot drop and dark tunnel; the Flying Coaster, a one-of-a-kind "hang gliding" experience where passengers lie facedown; the Halfpipe, a snowboarding-themed thrill ride that involves 16 passengers on a 39-foot board; the 220-foot, free-fall Tower of Doom; and a fully restored 1925 carousel with 67 hand-carved horses and chariots. Patrons of all ages can enjoy the Island Kingdom Water Park while the little ones have fun on pint-sized rides in the Looney Tunes MovieTown. There are also musical revues and stunt shows, games and arcades, food, shopping, and beautiful flower gardens. Allow 3 hours.

Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the five-story hotel features antique furnishings, marble floors, frescoed walls, stained glass, sterling chandeliers, and collections of Colorado art. Business Trip Very Pleasurable

Anonymous, Dallas, TX

The shopping at Cherry Creek was exceptional.

My stay at the Inn at Cherry Creek was a pleasant surprise. Not being familiar with the Denver area, and having a short business stay for Cherry Creek Mall, I found this location to be very desirable. I would consider staying here for vacation or weekend travel also. The surrounding shops and services were outstanding. The hotel itself was quite a pleasant surprise. It was very up to date, the room was very comfortable and I would definately stay again.

Cherry Creek Encounter

Anonymous, 2006-05-02

If Cherry Creek's nightlife does not satisfy you, a short drive or taxi ride takes you to downtown, LoDo and sporting events.,

The Inn at Cherry Creek puts you right in the middle of great shops, spas, galleries, restaurants and nightlife. The gas fireplace in the room was a nice touch and the separation of the vanity area from the shower, bath and toilet enabled two people to maneuver quite well. The staff is friendly and eager to please. We eat breakfast every morning in the dining area. There is sidewalk seating to have drinks and watch the world go by.

Excellent Location & Great Hotel

Tara, 2006-04-23

Ask the staff, they are very infomative and helpful.

The Inn at Cherry Creek was absolutely wonderful! The whole staff was super friendly and helpful. Great location, right in the middle of the shops and restaurants of Cherry Creek. There were excellent views from our balcony. The Weber Grill has a wonderful breakfast menu and very friendly staff. Our room was spacious and comfortable. The snack bar in our room was great, it proved to be very convenient, we used it more than we thought we would. Our hotel stay was wonderful, one of our all time favorites!

Fabulous Cherry Creek Inn

Anonymous, 2005-12-12

The bookstore is so close we went every day!

We took our little girl to Cherry Creek for a Christmas visit. This was the perfect hotel! Oncer we were parked in their covered garage we never moved the car again. We walked everywhere - the hotel is only a block from Crate & Barrel and two from Tattered Cover. The room was lovely and the restaurant was very nic. We can't wait to go back for another Christmas visit next year!

My review of Inn at Cherry Creek

Carl, Tucson, AZ, 2005-12-03

From the owner down to the room cleaning woman the service and care was first rate. Can't say enough about overall operation. You might say it was as if we were in our own home. We even eat all of our meals their but for two.

Not what we expected.

Elizabeth, Dallas, TX, 2005-09-03

The Inn at Cherry Creek is located in a nice part of Denver with lots of good restaurants and shopping within easy walking distance. The parking is underground in very close quarters. The extremely tight turns were very frustrating in an SUV. The staff was friendly, but not very helpful. Room service was not satisfactory - there was no comfortable place to eat, and it took three calls for all parts of our breakfast to arrive. Also, the noisy rubber bedsheet was annoying/insulting. Other than that, it was a good stay.

Cute hotel with personalized service

Anonymous, Los Angeles, CA, 2005-09-01

Great shops and restaurants right outside the hotel.

Inn at Cherry Creek was a great place to stay; it is new, very modern, right in the heart of Cherry Creek and the entire staff was extremely accomodating. I stayed for business, and I plan to stay every time I travel to Denver on business (about every 8 weeks). It would also be a nice place to stay for families and it is pet friendly with 3 Dog Bakery right downstairs. It has very nice rooms with balconies: more like a home than a hotel. I would highly recommend Inn at Cherry Creek to anyone who prefers to be able to walk to dinner/shopping and enjoys personalized service.
