Armani meets Art Deco at Denver's finest luxury hotel. Rated "Best Hotel in Denver" by Zagat 2005, and "World's Best Business Hotel" by Travel + Leisure 2005. Hotel Teatro is located in the heart of downtown, adjacent to the Denver Center for Performing Arts and within walking distance of the Pepsi Center, Coors Field and the Colorado Convention Center.Housed in Denver's Historic Tramway Building, Hotel Teatro opened its doors in 1999 as Denver's premier boutique luxury hotel. The elegance of the original building is seen today in the beautiful marble entrance and in carefully preserved touches throughout the hotel. The proximity to the Performing Arts Complex was the inspiration for the name Teatro, which means theatre in Italian. Beautiful theatrical costumes and photographs adorn the walls of the parlor and guestrooms. Hotel Teatro is designed to blend the grandeur of yesterday with the modern conveniences available today.Guestrooms are decorated in rich, soft gold or sage tones. Indonesian sandstone foyers set the stage of refined elegance, complemented by custom built cherry wood armoires and headboards, luxurious Frette linens, contemporary art deco furniture covered with fine fabrics and lavish touches like down comforters.

The room was impeccable and very comfortable, beautifully designed. The service couldn't have been better. I'll certainly return! Score 5 out of 5 Great Boutique Hotel Kristin, Springfield, IL, 2006-08-21 Located in downtow Denver, there are many fantastic cafe and restauant choices in the immediate area. The Hotel Teatro was beautifully appointed with many five star amenitites without the five star price. These include: two restaurants (one was recently voted the best restaurant in ALL of Colorado,) a free shuttle service in downtown Denver in a Cadillac Escalade, stylish rooms, choice of 3 or 4 morning newspapers, and a super helpful and friendly staff. Score 2 out of 5 Review Crystal, Los Angeles, CA, 2006-08-20 Performing Arts center is next door, LoDo (trendy lower downtown Denver is a within a few blocks.First of all, the hotel is nearly 20 minutes from the Denver Airport (which I expected).Hotel Teatro doesn't offer shuttle service to and from the airport. Upon my arrival at the hotel, I was very disappointed to discover valet parking was available, but an incredible $28 a night. I was not prepared for this charge and sought parking at an off-site location that charged $7 a day. The front desk clerk was nice enough. The room was clean and had an overall nice design. A radio near the bed played an orchestra concerta and the Belgium chocolates on the pillow added nice touches to my initial arrival. Upon further inspection, there were several unimpressive elements including: the television offered very few channel choices, the bathroom had a shower instead of a soaking tub (my preference) and Internet was available, but at a rate of $14.95 a day. Perhaps what made me most upset during my stay occured on Saturday when an unexpected thunderstorm posed a small threat to the evening's plans. I had made reservations at Sparrow and called the concierge to obtain a taxi about 15 minutes before I headed down to the lobby. I expected to have a taxi waiting for me, but instead I was met with a long line of guests who were also waiting. This wouldn't have been so bad (even though no one I spoke with had called ahead to reserve), except the Hotel Teatro staff was so busy accomodating the porn stars who were in town for some show at a Downtown burlesque club, that they were incapble of calling or hailing additional transportation. To add insult to injury, several of the porn stars were escorted to the event in the hotel's Escalade (this service was never offered to me or any other guest...). After waiting almost 20 minutes, I hailed a passing taxi myself and directed the driver to my destination. This experience in particular was completely unwarranted. I felt the only time the staff did anything was for financial incentive (tip). There was an abudance of attention available, but none of it genuine. Room service was offered, with options from the hotel's excellent restaurant, but a simple salad lunch cost more in service charges and gratiuity than the meal itself. I don't consider myself frugual, but also don't like to feel stressed when the hotel I am staying at is nickle-and-diming my every move. Hotel Teatro failed to meet my expectations, although I hope it rises to the challenge. Score 5 out of 5 beautiful botique hotel, good restaurants Steven, 2006-08-07 Mexican restaurant, one block west is well worth a visit-ask to be seated at upstairs outside balconyHotel Teatro is a small well kept and well managed facility. Our room, although small, was well furnished, comfortable, clean and more than satisfactory. The staff were friendly, efficient, and unobtrusive. The hotel restaurants were excellent. Score 4 out of 5 fabulous hotel but noisy.. Anonymous, 2006-03-10 Hotel Teatro was very comfortable and came equipped with amenity of high quality. --- But one very disappointing thing was that we were given a room at 2nd floor just right next to the noisy airconditioners. I asked the front desk to change the room, but they offered us the other 2nd floor room again which was still so noisy that I could not sleep well. I would stay at higher floor next time. Score 5 out of 5 Luxurious Getaway Roberta, Bismarck, ND, 2005-11-02 We browsed the shops in Larimer Square and Writer's Square which began only 4 blocks from the hotel. The 16th St. Mall was also close to those areas and there are buses on the mall (which are free) if your feet start hurting. We especially enjoyed the outdoor seating at the varied and unique restaurants and coffee shops. The Hotel Teatro was an unexpected surprise. From the moment we arrived, the doormen welcomed us and we were able to check into our room much earlier than expected. The bed and linens were beautiful, we slept like we were on vacation and were more than surprised at the quiteness of our room. Our room wasn't large but had every amenity we needed. The marble bathroom was spotless and I loved that we had robes available to slip into after our shower. Since our flight didn't leave until late the evening of our departure, we were able to leave our luggage with the bellman while we walked around the downtown Denver area. When we returned, our luggage was brought to us and the bellman ordered a cab for us that was super-clean and the driver couldn't have been friendlier. We only spent one night there but will definitely return and will recommend it to everyone. My only caveat is that this hotel is for business travelers and couples which makes it even nicer! Score 5 out of 5 Very Cool Henry, Orlando, FL, 2005-10-30 Spend time on the 16th Mall, a short walk from the hotel.Teatro is a great hotel. A very European feel. The bathroom was very well appointed and user friendly. The bed however, was not very comfortable. The mattress was minimal and very stiff. The room was also well appointed and laid out very well. Room 807. Location was excellent to downtown Denver. Score 4 out of 5 small rooms Anonymous, 2005-09-05 Lodo is a great area in Denver for a stay. The Hotel was lovely and beautifully decorated. The staff was delightful. The only real problem was that the room was extremely small. We got an excellent deal on our room, but had we paid the normal rates, it would have been a very disappointing. There are much better properties in the Denver area. Score 5 out of 5 Review James, Boston, MA, 2005-08-18 No review provided by user |
