Most recent user reviewsScore 4 out of 5 Close to CU Anonymous, Albuquerque, NM The Boulder Broker is very close to the CU campus. It is an older hotel undergoing upgrading, which it really needs. The free breakfast is only so-so as was the wait staff during breakfast. The price was right for the Boulder area. Score 3 out of 5 Good location. David, Denver, CO, 2007-02-28 The Dark horse is oldy but goody in boulder with a good long happy hour and good, cheap, if not gourmet eats. Mcdonalds, Denny's and noodles a very close. But it is a cab ride to the finer even mid level resterraunts in town. The Boulder Broker inn is in a good location. Close to the freeway and the not so classy restraunts in town. The hotels restraunts i've eaten in the past and enjoyed was closed the whole time I was there. The bar a good value and freindly. The hotel is old and worn, although the have remodled rooms I did not get one. My room was old and not sound proof which woke me up once or twice. I took two hours to check in after a very long day. I was given a free drink and a temporary room for my comfort. Decor is somewhat old style heavy european but it works. This is definitely not a chain Hotel. Front desk staff were extremely friendly and curteuos and it is the best value for money in Boluder as far as I can tell. The only thing they need to do is to increase the temperature of the hot water in the room. Score 5 out of 5 Great Value with 'Character' Colin, Milwaukee, WI, 2006-12-10 A five minute drive downtown gives you access to a variety of great resturauntsThe Boulder Broker Inn is not your usual run of the mill type of hotel. If you are looking for old world charm, then this is the place for you. Ok it could do with a bit of updating, but for the price, I couldn't have asked for better !! Staff were great, the complimentary breakfast was awesome and the rooms were good. Thought I was going to have to complain about no gym, but they have a great arrangement with on close by, so another plus for them. Overall a good experience and I would definitely go back there. Score 3 out of 5 Wait for the renovations... Frances, 2006-11-17 Pearl Street with it's wonderful shopping, fun street musicians, and pedestrian mall has one of the best selections of restaurants anywhere. The variety of ethnic restaurants can't be beat. The location is convenient to Pearl Street and across from the University in a residential area. Staff are friendly and accomodating. Toiletries left in a basket are a thoughtful touch. On the minus side, the lighting seems to be done with 40 watt bulbs, the room felt overly crowded with large heavy furniture. The dining room was closed but the tavern/cafe was open. The food was mediocre. I understand that renovovations will begin soon with with that, this hotel may be able to offer a better experience. Score 4 out of 5 Works for parents weekend Jack, Cincinnati, OH, 2006-10-15 Campus is nearby.Older hotel near the CU campus. Old west feel with dark rooms. Needs renovetion and update but was good value for the location on parents weekend. Staff was nice. Score 2 out of 5 Needs Updating Anonymous, Harrisburg, PA, 2006-08-22 Supposedly a good hamburger and beer place next door. I did not eat there, but our college son has and said it is good and good value for your money. It's called the Black Horse Inn.The Boulder Broker Inn needs some major updating. It is an old, charming hotel, but needs to be lightened up a bit and remodeled. The location is prime as it is very near the CU campus, so they have a very captive clientel and probably see no need to update. The free breakfast was pretty good, although a bit unorganized at times and tables not cleaned off quickly enough to allow others to eat. The staff was friendly and helpful. Score 4 out of 5 Good location Anonymous, 2006-05-29 There's a nice park 1 mile up the road on 30th.The hotel has an older feel to it but is kept up nicely. The location was nice for the Bolder Boulder race: 2.5 miles from the start and 1 mile from the CU stadium finish. The staff were friendly and the full breakfast was nice. Score 5 out of 5 Good location for BB Anonymous, 2006-05-29 Good location for BB. Hotel needs some upkeep and pool is small and by dumpster, but ok overall. |
