There's a scenic walking trail alongside a stream just blocks from Mountain Chalet Aspen. Look for signs that read Rio Grande Trail.

The Mountain Chalet Aspen's parking garage is a blessing! Parking is normally a problem in Aspen, but not at the Mountain Chalet. Additionally, the rooms are comfortable, and the complimentary breakfast includes many tasty options. All that Aspen has to offer in shopping and restaurants is within walking distance.

We found that w neede light jackets even dduring our summer stay. Also ther were many places to choose from to dine.

We were very tired from our previous drive and had camped the night before, so upon arriving, we were made to feel very welcome by staff. The amenities were very comfprtable and the view around us was spectacular. We took several pictures just from our windows/balcony. We then got some suggestions of dining out that night in Aspen and had just a wonderful time. That noght we had the monst comfortabale beds and had a great night's sleep!

Great Location

Shopping and restaurants are a short walk. You can leave the car in the garage. And the bus station offering free transporation to ski areas and nearby towns is right out the front door.

If you're looking to be in the heart of Aspen and within a short walk to all Aspen has to offer, the Mountain Chalet is a great place. It has been around a long time and has not been recently remodeled. Underground parking is great in a town where parking is next to impossible. The rooms are tiny, the towels are worn thin and the continental breakfast is very basic. If you are looking for an upscale place, this is not it. However, if you are looking for a clean place to stay, a comfortable, rustic living room to read and meet up with people and you're using the hotel as a place to sleep and not to play, you'll find the Mountain Chalet ideal.

Review of Mountain Chalet Aspen

The hotel is located in the perfect location. It is less than one block away from the main downtown drag so walking everywhere is perfect with a short stroll home. The pool is refreshing in the summer and the hotel staff is all European adding an international feel to the hotel. The rooms are fine although there is a construction project going on across the street (not thier fault). The heavy beam ceiling and sturdy furniture add to the unique feel of the property. It is dated specifically the bathrooms and lack of AC. The property has a nice sauna and hot tub. An excellent value for the money.

I was a participant at the Aspen Ideas Festival. This was a full blown brain enhancing experience. I attended the festival and walked to the room. I never had time to enjoy the hotel amenities. It was conveniently located due to the proximity of the shuttles. I had a good time.

This Hotel has one of the best in town locations. More importantly the management treated us the way they would like to be treated. They were business like and professional but also were accomodating whenever they could be. We have already reccomended this property to a few friends.
