Welcome to Durango, the heart of Colorado & number 39; old and new west! Durango has been a bustling railroad town since the 1880s and today you can still ride the historic steam train from downtown (just a short drive from the Super 8 Motel) through the beautiful San Juan Mountains, to the quaint mining town of Silverton. If you are looking for a little more excitement, you can swoosh down the slopes of the nearby Durango Mountain ski resort in the winter, raft the raging Animas River during the spring snow melt, or golf in the lushness of a high mountain summer at the famous Hillcrest golf course. You can finish your day by enjoying a delicious meal in any of the town's excellent restaurants and then return to your comfortable room for a good nights rest. The next morning, to speed you on your way, we provide coffee makers in all our rooms so that you can have your first cup as soon as you wake up. Free High Speed Internet, hairdryers and coffeemakers in all rooms
Most recent user reviewsScore 5 out of 5 Great Location Anonymous, Albuquerque, NM, 2006-10-08 WalMart is just down the street as well as a shopping mall and several restaurants.I liked staying at the Super 8 south of Durango because it was easy to get in and out of since downtown Durango is so crowded. It only takes minutes to drive to town. Room was very clean and comfortable. Score 5 out of 5 professional yet friendly Martin, 2006-05-27 great walking trail in near by park and along river, the Durango Super 8 was clean well maintained. the staff was professional while remaining friendly. Greatly satisfying stay. Score 5 out of 5 Good bargain Anonymous, Farmington, NM, 2006-03-11 Major chain stores right across highway and a great little restaurant, Kachina Kitchen, is located just a 1/2 mile away in a shopping center to the northeast of the hotel.Great Location - right across from the new Pier One, Linens & Things, and other shopping/restaurants. Easy in, easy out & late arrival was handled cheerfully in the midst of a snowstorm! Rooms were fine, some attention to cleaning tile/floor in bath needed, but overall was okay. Score 3 out of 5 Durango Super 8 review Anonymous, Denver, CO, 2005-07-03 The room was entirely adequate and clean. However, amenities were sparse (nothing but bar soap and towels). The complimentary continental breakfast was severely lacking compared to other properties in which I've stayed. There was NO fruit, no bagels and only two dry cereal offerings. Check-in and check-out was easy and painless. For my money (the same amount per night I might add), I'll stay at a bed and breakfast where the hosts are warm, the breakfasts are awesome and the location/ambience is typically much better. |
