Most recent user reviewsScore 2 out of 5 okay, but a little disappointing.... Anonymous, 2006-07-04 The National 9-Sand Canyon Inn was a little disappointing. Although I generally like the atmosphere of oldtime motels, sadly, this one has become rather run down and in need of some sprucing up. The pool area, in particular, appeared unclean and uncared for, in need of some maintenance and attention. The one thing going for the motel is the Italian restuarant called Nero's located right next door. Nero's was quite a delight and a pleasant surprise. I had a delicious meal there and would definitely eat there again on another visit. Score 4 out of 5 Better than I expected Anonymous, 2005-08-02 An old fashioned movie theatre is a short walk away, surrounded by restaurants, book stores, shopping, etc.The rate was very cheap and I expected the hotel to be really crummy. Instead, the room was clean and the bed was quite comfortable. Although the room wasn't completely clean, there was a dirty washcloth in the bathroom, it fit the bill nicely. The parking was inconvenient and there wasn't any breakfast in the morning. The hotel was in walking distance of some fine restaurants, bookstores, sporting goods shops and a theatre. Overall I found this hotel reasonable and wouldn't mind staying at it again. Score 1 out of 5 Not what expected Mary Lou, Salt Lake City, UT, 2005-06-14 The pictures on the internet were much nicer than the motel in person. The room was clean. The bathroom was large with the sink outside. The bed was hard and there were two regular size pillows on a King bed. The pool was not accessible and very dirty. It didn't look like they planned on using it all summer. The chairs around it were old and dirty and the paint job on the pool area was chipping. There hotel restaruant was next door. It did not appear to be part of the motel at all. There was a single coffee pot in the check in area. Not only was the motel poor but the city of Cortez does not offer much. The restaruant we chose to eat at was very poor and dirty. I would not make a stay there again. It would have been mcuh better to have gone on to Durango and stayed there. |
