Most recent user reviewsScore 4 out of 5 good lodge with excellent access to slopes Anonymous 9545 restaurantSki lodge feel and proximity to ski rentals and slopes are outstanding. Rooms very nice but a bit pricey. Single rooms are microscopic; go for the one bedrooms and larger. Very friendly staff but seem to be overwhelmed on busy weekends. The site would benefit greatly with some kind of restaurant, but many options available in village and many people just cook in their rooms. Score 4 out of 5 good owner user facility Anonymous, Orange County, CA slopes near byNice local feel Score 5 out of 5 Ski Telluride! Anonymous, Philadelphia, PA Make sure you buy breakfast fixings in the small market in town since the condo-hotel does not provide ANY food. ( Worst shortcoming of it) If you want to start the day on 'empty', you can ski down to Big Billie's at the bottom of the lift to eat!The Mountain Lodge was in a perfect location for ski-in-ski-out (with a very small walk). The views of the mountains and pines from our room were breathtaking especially because it snowed during our stay. The high-ceilinged studio was adequate for two people and the stone fireplace with artificial logs was dramatic and provided cozy warmth. The kitchen with granite counters and gorgeous Sub-Zero fridge was streamlined and wonderful to have available for dinners in although there was no oven only a microwave. There was good equipment for cooking and dining as well and. Lovely bath with stone floors and separate marble sink area and plenty of clean linens daily made the stay comfortable. There was good storage with one tall chest of drawers and very adequate closet space. Staff were very friendly and helpful with following-up on a lost bag. The hotel provided an on-demand free shuttle to the mountain village 5 minutes away where there are restaurants, ski-tickets, and shopping. There is a wonderful gondola system which one can also take to the main town of Telluride down the mountain so that a car is absolutely unnecessary at any time and even in the way. Skiing was beyond excellent, interesting, and beautiful and most of all totally uncrowded with lift lines being non-existent. Can't wait to go back. Score 4 out of 5 Great Location For Sking Theodore, Austin, TX, 2007-02-15 You don't need a car...This hotel/condo association is great for skiing, but if you want to be closer to the action, stay down in Telluride itself. The whole of Mountain Village is dead at night. This can be good if you want quiet and easy access to skiing. The Mountain Lodge is further removed from Mountain Village but there's about 200 yard walk to the Gondola extension into Mountain Village and on to the main Gondola to Telluride. We had a 1 bedroom studio condo with the pass through fire place. The room was clean and there was plenty of room for two people and their gear. My main beef with this place is the room charge for the services offered. There is no onsite restaurant, and the work out facilities are a joke. These may not be important to you though. Otherwise, this place is perfect for ski access. They also opened a store at the gondola station that has good produce, breads, and fresh prepared meals from their deli that simply need heated in your room's micro. The room has no stove, so things like frozen pizzas are probably out. Finally, there is a problem with noise from other units leaking through. This wasn't a problem for us until the last day when we could hear our neighbors loud coughing and general movements. Luck of the draw here I guess as you may not have anyone next door. Score 4 out of 5 romantic getaway Anonymous, 2006-07-05 Many dining experiences throughout telluride with easy access from the hotel on the gondolagreat place to take the spouse for major relaxation and beautiful scenery Score 5 out of 5 Beautiful location. Very dog friendly. Jeff, 2006-07-01 Park the car and take the FREE gondola to Telluride.A great place to stay. Our room had everything: TV, DVD, stereo, fireplace, granite counter tops. It was sweet and the staff was very friendly and helpful. Score 2 out of 5 Cramped Gail, Denver, CO, 2006-02-26 The ski slopes are awesome and with no lines or crowds. Scenery is beautiful! The space is very limited. We were stepping on top of each other to get around. The check-in time is late and the check-out time is too early making it difficult to plan a day of activities together. One little tiny hot tub for the entire complex which is located at the lodge, away from the accomendations. The fitness area is as cramped as the rooms. The location is beautiful and very accesible to the slopes. Bottom line, not worh the money. Score 4 out of 5 A pleasant surprise Anonymous, Houston, TX, 2006-02-01 Ski in / Ski Out via the Double Cabin run. This makes the last run of the day so much more tolerable. We chose Mountain Lodge at Telluride after failing to secure reservations at swankier lodges in the area. I was apprehensive about staying at this lodge because the cost was so reasonable. We were pleasantly surprised and pleased with the lodge. The one bedroom condo (really a hotel sized suite) was above average. The king bed was very comfortable and the kitchen was amazing. Granite countertops, gas stove and Subzero refrigerator made us feel right at home. The dcor was rustic with nice pine and leather furniture. The only complaint I have is the size of the bathroom and Jacuzzi tub which was only big enough for a single adult at a time. Other travelers might find the location slightly inconvenient since the lodge is not immediately adjacent to the Mountain Village core. This is remedied by the excellent shuttle service provided by the lodge. The staff was attentive to our needs and special requests. We only had one occurrence of poor service which as corrected immediately by the manager. Score 5 out of 5 Wonderful Lodge! Debra, Denver, CO, 2005-10-13 The Mountain Village is a short walk or a very quick shuttle ride away, where you can shop, eat or drink. The Mountain Lodge at Telluride was beautiful! The rooms were extremely pretty, very beautifully furnished and decorated, and very comfortable. The kitchen was very nice and supplied with all of the necessities. The bathrooms were beautiful and luxurious. The beds were very comfortable; with down comforters, great bedding and very nice mattresses. The Lodge is conveniently located within walking distance to the gondola, but the staff was also very nice about offering shuttle rides to and from the gondola. I can't wait to go back! Score 4 out of 5 Small Room Larry, 2005-08-21 The gondola takes you everywhere. The room we had was very tiny. It did not have a chair to sit on or anything else to sit on other than the toilet or the bed. There was no free internet access and they should not even bother having a workout facility if they are going to stick it in a smnall corner area. |
