Four Mile Historic Park
Four miles southeast of downtown Denver -- thus the name -- the oldest log home (1859) still standing in Denver serves as the centerpiece for this 12-acre open-air museum. Everything is authentic to the period from 1859 to 1883, including the house (a former stagecoach stop), its furnishings, outbuildings, and farm equipment. There are draft horses and chickens in the barn, and crops in the garden. Weekend visitors can enjoy horse-drawn carriage rides ($2), weather permitting. Seasonal "Heritage Events" feature pioneer-era musicians and actors as well as many food and craft demonstrations. Big events include July 4th and an outdoor theater series. Allow 1 hour.

Vance Kirkland Museum
This relatively new museum covers Colorado's most illustrious artist, Vance Kirkland (1904-81), in grand fashion, while also presenting a world-class collection of decorative arts. Kirkland was a watercolor painter focused on Western landscapes when he started experimenting and combined oils and watercolors on one canvas. The traditional arts establishment dropped his modern ideas like a bad habit, but he later won accolades for creating his own artistic universe in his stunning paintings, about 60 of which are on display here. His preserved brick studio (first built in 1911) has an unusual harness he used for painting on flat canvases face down (dating from his "dot" period). The decorative arts collection includes about 3,000 pieces ranging from teacups to armchairs, and there are also over 600 works by notable Colorado artists other than Kirkland.

Byers-Evans House
This elaborate Victorian home, built by Rocky Mountain News founding editor William Byers in 1883, has been restored to its appearance of 1912-24, when it was owned by William Gray Evans, son of Colorado's second territorial governor. (The Evans family continued to reside here until 1981.) Guided tours describe the architecture and explain the fascinating lives of these prominent Denver families. There is a gift shop. Allow 45 minutes.

Airport was close for our very early flight.

The Days Inn Denver Business place was very acceptable for our very short stay as we wanted a hotel close to the airport. We ordered food from a nearby restaurant and it came very quickly and was quite good.

Dining: Bennigans--very good-- is across the street. A short walk.

Terrific in every way. And a great bargain. The room was large, clean, and comnfortable. Perfection would be met if you had a bar/restaurant.

GREAT LOCATION

The airport is so close and they shuttle you right over at the right time. But, you have to tell them and sign up for the shuttle when you check in.

The Days Inn was so conveniant to the airport. We had an early morning flight and still got some breakfast because they started serving at 4:00.It was great!

Close to airport .....and many restaurants

The days inn denver was a great hotel, check in was very fast, the room was clean and tidy , i was especially impressed with the shower, many hotels i have stayed at had very low flow shower heads , days inn spared no expense and installed nice quality shower heads with adjustable settings ,overall it was a great experience.....

Close to DIA and to parking options

Instead of park-and-fly options--since the hotel has no parking security, it is recommended that you drive directly West on Tower Road (2 miles at most) to USAParkinglot where parking cost is similar and your vehicle is secured.

Denver Days Inn Business Place, DIA was close to dining and the rooms were spacious, clean and well-appointed. The hotel offered parking options and were close to DIA parking lots, also. Free shuttle to airport is always convient.
