Most recent user reviewsScore 5 out of 5 Close to the ski slopes at a great price Matthew, 2007-02-11 Maybe 2 minute car ride to downtown Durango where all the restraunts and bars are.The Best Western Mountain Shadows has a great location in Durango and for the money was hard to beat for die hard skiers that live in the desert. All the standard fair for a hotel as you would expect. Good skiing and absolutely no complaints. If you are a skier and are budget concious (what skier isn't?) it's a great place to stay! Score 2 out of 5 A last resort Karen, Portland, OR, 2006-06-02 grocery storeIt's a tired motel fronting a busy street with traffic (and guest) noise at night. Rooms overlook a busy parking lot with no landscaping to deaden the noise. There were no restaurants nearby, and we felt the rooms were overpriced. Score 4 out of 5 Room Comfort Beverly, Albuquerque, NM, 2005-12-13 There are all kinds of shops and places to eat.The room was very nice, but it was hard to heat. The maintenence man was very helpful and brought us a small heater that work very well. He also said they found a larger one if we needed it, but the small one worked very well and the room was comfortable when we cam back from dinner. Score 5 out of 5 VERY NICE HOTEL Anonymous, 2005-09-20 ON MAIN STREET IN DURANGO YOU WILL FIND ALL THE RESTAURANTS THAT ARE WORTH EATING AT.THE BEST WESTERN MOUNTAIN SHADOWS WAS A GREAT PLACE TO STAY WHILE WE WERE VISITING DURANGO. THE POOL AND HOT TUB AREA WAS VERY NICE. I REALLY ENJOYED THE ENCLOSED AREA WHERE THE HOT TUB WAS LOCATED. THE CONTENTINAL BREAKFAST WAS FANTASTIC. I LOVED THE VARIETY THEY HAD AVAILABLE AT THE BREAKFAST. I WOULD RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL TO MY FAMILY AND FRIENDS WHO WERE GOING TO DURANGO. Score 5 out of 5 Review Joseph, Los Angeles, CA, 2005-08-10 No review provided by user Score 5 out of 5 Very Family Friendly Anonymous, 2005-08-03 There is a grocery store with deli and salad bar nearby. This makes for a nice change of pace for evening meals. Summer evenings are pleasant in Durango, so an evening picnic is most relaxing. The majority of the guests were family groups. There was a lot of evening interaction among the parents, children and grandparents. Because of this interaction, there was a pleasant atmosphere at breakfast time with exchange of neighborly greetings among the guests.
