Score 5 out of 5 Clean and friendly staff Bruce, Spring Point, 2006-05-17 Short drive to antique shops and gold panning.I was very pleased with this property. They charge such a low price, I wasn't sure what to expect. The hotel was very clean and new-looking. It's very close to the main street and had very pretty roses outside. The continental breakfast was very abundant. This was a great surprise! Score 5 out of 5 More than we expected Michael, Lansing, MI, 2006-05-04 We chose to stay in Sutter Creek as an access point to Sierra Foothills wine country. It is a good location because the wine region is only 15-30 minutes away, and a good variety of restaurants are in town. One never knows how well an individual hotel will be maintained, particularly among facilities known for value, but this Days Inn was top notch. Parking and check-in was extremely convenient. The desk clerk was very accomodating concerning our inquiries about dining, and presented a looseleaf notebook with menus from numerous local restaurants, along with her own recommendations. The rooms were clean, spacious and comfortable, and the complimentary high speed wireless internet access worked flawlessly. The Continental breakfast was basic (fruit, cereal, pastries, bagels, English muffins, juice, coffee, etc) but it was adequate and precisely what we expected it to be. About the only thing I would have improved upon if working with a blank slate for this facility (keeping in mind the price range and what one can reasonably expect) would be to make the complimentary breakfast area more spacious. The guest eating area consisted on one bar along the wall, with room for 3 or 4 people. We just brought food back to the room, since one family was already sitting there. If returning to Sutter Creek, we would choose to again stay there. Score 5 out of 5 Nice comfortable spot Anonymous, Sacramento, CA, 2005-06-23 We stopped at this hotel overnight on our way through California's "Gold Country". We were welcomed by friendly staff into an inviting lobby. The room was spacious, clean, and quiet; included microwave and fridge, nice if you're staying a few days. We were disappointed to find that the on site restaurant wasn't open on the night we arrived; get there early if you want to catch them open. The complimentary continental breakfast was one of the best I've seen for a hotel of this price range, or even many more "upscale" hotels. One small complaint - I was glad to hear all the rooms are non smoking, but I have a very sensitive nose, and the room we stayed in had a trace of old cigarette smoke smell. If you're very sensitive in that way, you might want to request a room that has never been a "smoking" room. Otherwise, it was a refreshing and restful place for our overnight stay on our trip. |
