But it was available for every hotel in the area so go to another hotel and use the shuttle - not this one.I would have been better staying at the airport and sleeping on the floor -- this room was smelly, tattered and gave the appearance of being uncared for and unmaintained. I couldn't use the tub because the painted on slick retainer was peeling off and floating in the water. The sink had a drip water problem, no plug, and bubbles and smoke holes in the surfacing of the counter. The toilet seat also had bubbles and mars on it. The floor had very old and stained vinyl. You couldn't plug in the more than one item or the circuit blew. Now to the bed -- oh my. It had dark spots on the sheets, wrinkles and stains. The pillows were clumps of old tatters with water stains on them. I slept on the outside of the cover hoping it would save me from any potential critters laying wait underneath. Score 1 out of 5 Low End Stay Kathy, Charleston, SC, 2005-11-06 hotel is near sfo and shuttle availability to airport.Front desk required a $50. advance for any possible charges at time of arrival even though the room was prepaid and a credit card was onfile. The rooms were dirty, sinks did not drain, shower curtain rod was down in first room assigned. Front desk advised that the hotel was under renovation, which needs to be updated for sure. The replacement room had cleaner sinks and tub, however the hair dryer flicked off and on, the rugs were well worn and beds marginal. Would rate this hotel as a one star since it has a location near air port . Score 2 out of 5 Disappointment Anonymous, Washington, DC, 2005-10-02 The IHOP is very close, although the side closest is on a very dangerous freeway...which is why they suggest that you cross on the opposite side. They fixed breakfast very quickly, which was a necessity in order to get to the airport. Dinner was fine the weekend before.The Howard Johnson did not even give out newspapers at each guest's door. I was under the impression that they had a full breakfast, which is why I chose them. So, I was extremely unhappy and dissatisfied that not only did they not have a FULL breakfast, but their continental breakfast was very, very skimpy. Also, I was supposed to have a queen smoking room for both weekend nights we stayed there, but it was only available this past Friday night that we stayed there. The staff was very pleasant though, and it was close to the airport, with quick shuttle pickup, and close to the IHOP (since we had to pay for breakfast, and we used it for dinner on the first weekend night we stayed there). |
