The West Beach Inn is one of several beachfront hotels in the city, located between the marina and Stern's Wharf, the most popular destination in Santa Barbara. Our rates include a deluxe continental breakfast, evening wine and cheese, and turndown service with mints. The pool and spa are both heated and parking is free.
Most recent user reviewsScore 5 out of 5 Great location Greg, Ontario, CA great running trails along harbor.Clean. Great view of harbor and walking distance to downtown Santa Barbara. Score 5 out of 5 Great location, huge room Anonymous Nice views from the restaurants on the piers (there are several). The West Beach Inn in Santa Barbara is only a 2 star hotel, but it was clean and compared to other hotels in Santa Barbara, reasonably priced. The room was huge - we had our young daughter in a port-a-crib and there was TONS of room. We had an ocean view room which actually looks over the marina, but the balcony was large, and the room featured huge windows to take in the view. We didn't really take advantage of the pool or other facilities, but they appeared well-kept and clean. The hotel also puts on wine and cheese in the evenings, and an acceptable continental breakfast each morning. The only complaint I have is that the staff really didn't seem to know much about the area. For example, I asked for a recommendation for a good quality seafood restaurant, and while he gave me a couple of names, his directions were very vague. Nor did he seem to know which were "good". Overall though, highly recommended. Walking distance to shops, the pier, as well as a art fair. The hotel itself, very basic rooms, the view and location make up for it. Score 5 out of 5 Relaxing Jim, 2006-09-25 I would reccommend the walk up State Street There are many shops and eateries to enjoy. This is the second time we have stayed at the Weast Beach Inn and both times have found it very relaxing. We enjoy the view of the harbor and the mountains. It is directly across from the beach which makes for a beautiful view and plenty of opportunity for good walking. The rooms and the hotel grounds are very clean and enjoyable. Score 5 out of 5 Really nice room & great location Anonymous, Washington, DC, 2006-06-15 Stearns Wharf - nice shops and restaurantsThe West Beach Inn has the feel of being secluded, even though you are right on the main drag along the beach. The view of the ocean is blocked somewhat by the harbor, but Stearns Wharf has good restaurants & gift shops. State Street has all the nice shops, upscale mall and wonderful eateries, etc., but you still have to drive to get to them. Still, you are walking distance to the pier and some other casual pubs and surf shops. Nice little pool and hot tub for the evenings and large rooms. Would definitely stay there again. Score 5 out of 5 Perfect Quiet Getaway Bruce, Detroit, MI, 2006-06-05 Beach across the street, harbour a few blocks away, wharf and maritime museum a few blocks the other way, skateboard area, walking, biking, rollerboarding and running along the beach front. Wine tasting is merely a mile away and Santa Ynez Valley (more wine, scenery and a HUGE casino) is a 30-40 minute drive.West Beach Inn was clean, very well maintained and amazingly located. It was across the street from the beach, a couple blocks from Santa Barbara Harbour (to the right), a couple blocks from Stearns Wharf (to the left) a few blocks from State Street (party and shopping central) along beautiful Cabrillo Blvd. For being in a such an ideal location, the hotel was quiet at night, breakfast was well stocked early, the pool and hot tub clean and ready 24/7. This is probably not the hotel I would bring my 3 small, loud children to, but it was perfect for my wife and I to get away for a long weekend. The room was clean and large compared to most beach front hotels I have stayed at. But really, with the weather and so much to do, how much time do you really spend IN the hotel room? I would highly recommend this hotel and a second floor garden view room. Score 5 out of 5 Comfortable Stay Anonymous, 2006-05-29 Beaches, Whale watching excursion pier, craft fairOur stay at The West Beach Inn Santa Barbara was quite pleasant and relaxing. The bed afford a restful sleep and the bathroom was roomy and functional. The hotel was located within easy walking distance to the Sea Landing, Chase Palm Park and the beaches. The morning breakfast offerings were good and plentiful and the evening wine and cheese buffet was a nice way to start the evening.
