The Montecito Inn was built in 1928 by screen legend Charlie Chaplin as a haven for tinsel town celebrities. Enriched with influences reminiscent of early Santa Barbara, newly designed guest rooms are a reflection of the Montecito Inn's proud history and tradition. Bedrooms decorated with classic patters and furnishings in warm earth tones and bathrooms adorned with hand-painted ceramic tile create an elegant ambiance. The Montecito Inn offers the perfect blend of classic style, comfort, convenience, and personalized service.

Relaxed in the breakfast room reading the (complementary) LA Times and watched the world go back through the wide windows. Had a late check-in, so no say about my room, and received on overlooking a messy back part/alley area. Not at all pleasing. As the rooms are a bit small (which made clear in their adverts), a window/view of some sort is almost nearly a necessity. Lovely place and a memorable experience for my teen-age daughter. This small, intimate hotel is a relaxing blast to the past in a gorgeous neighborhood in Montecito. Our hotel room had two televisions, a fireplace, a large jacuzzi tub and an oversized shower. The interior design in the hotel was simple and classic. The location was perfect, just walking distance to many restarants and shops. The Inn is a few minutes from downtown Santa Barbara, yet does not have the Santa Barbara price tag. The hotel has been restored immaculately to it's original condition. It was built by Charlie Chaplin and was host to Hollywood's elite in the early 1920's and 30's. The room had an old-time feel to it, yet had all the modern conveniences, desk, tv, high speed connection. Only drawback was that outside of the room you can hear some freeway noise. Other than that, very relaxing, best value for ambience and location... I would definitely stay again. Score 2 out of 5 My review of Montecito Inn Kathleen, San Francisco, CA, 2005-07-14 The Montecita Inn was good and bad. The service and customer care was excellent. The rooms we're small for the money, extremely stuffy with no air conditioning and loud, loud, loud. Would not recommend to friends simply because of the room comfort and noice level due to having to have the windows due to no air circulation in room and situated near a major freeway. No air conditioning in the rooms. Hotel staff however was extremely helpful and friendly. |
