With room rates going through the roof in Santa Barbara, we found the Inn by the Harbor a good deal with a good location.

Bravo on a nice wine and cheese reception in the afternoon and a very complete breakfast including eggs, croissants, bagels, etc. Resturant recommendation in the room/hotel guide proved to be a great Cajun place called The Palace Grill....highly recommended.

When I called ahead of time to see if I could get early check-in the person on the phone was slightly rude. Responded by saying to me what do you want me to do.. kick out a guest so you can check in? Needless to say, I was very surprised by this. Other than that the room was clean so no complaints there. We only stayed one nite but would stay again.

Dining opportunities abound. Towards State Street one can dine at Fish Enterprise Company with its exceptional Happy Hour specials, or if one walks three blocks to the beach, Cabrillo Blvd has numerous restaurants to choose from, seafood to pizza to Mexican, etc, or just relaxing at the beach or checking out the harbor pier.

Inn by the Harbor offers exceptional value. A very comfortable room, always extremely clean ! Inn offers a wonderful, complete continental breakfast as well as evening happy hour with wine and cheese. Staff is very pleasant and accommodating. The location is walking distance to State Street shops as well as the beach and harbor. Just a fabulous Santa Barbara stay.

The beach was 3 blocks, but the main shopping and eating area, State Street was 7-8 blocks

The Inn by the Harbor had a comfortable room and the hotel had a good location. Very limited kitchen equipment/cups/glasses etc. The "Garden View" was poor and the building length balcony was rather unkempt,with old tatty furniture. Most of the staff were rather unfriendly. Good continental breakfast.

GREAT sushi a few blocks away. All restaurants were good.

This is a quaint hotel. Very quiet. Hotel and staff were great. close to everything that is happening on the island.

The "Inn by the Harbor" was a very cute and cozy hotel. The room had a very roomy and country like feel to it. The hotel room was more like a tiny apartment rather than your standard hotel. With the bedroom, eating area, bathroom and full sized kitchen you practically forget you're staying in a hotel but instead moved your own home. The room decor was beautiful. The entire hotel was just so homy and I absolutely loved it. The continental breakfast was delicious not like other hotel chains. They even served wine and cheese and milk and cookies throughout the day. The hotel has the best location in santa barbara its only a block away from the harbor beach area and only few feet away from Santa Barbara's wonderful state street shopping and entertainment area. Great hotel with a great location.

A nice cozy place in and out. Nice neighborhood. Good presentation. Would recommend. The room was good size with plenty of ammenities. I would have liked the bed to be bigger. Overall it was very well lit. What I really liked was the balcony type of exit to the other side that views the pool.

have a large breakfast, you won't need lunch

nice pleasant stay. very clean. very nice person at the front desk. really good breakfast buffet, and the wine & cheese was a nice touch. Very pretty from the outside and also the courtyard. nice amenities in the bathroom and coffee service. large room with a little balcony. no complaints.
