Most recent user reviewsScore 5 out of 5 I got what I paid for Anonymous Joes crab shack was a short walk away along with other restaurants.I would definately stay at this hotel again. The only thing that I was not happy about was the inability to smoke anywhere on hotel property. But I do understand why the hotel has that rule. Other than that I was completely satisfied. Score 4 out of 5 Great views George, 2007-03-14 Many place to eat within a few blocks of the hotel. Anything from fastfood to fine dining.Ocean Park Inn was clean and comfortable. The view of the pacific ocean was perfect. Also the hotel is close to everything. Score 4 out of 5 great location Anonymous, Los Angeles, CA, 2007-03-12 beach right in front of the hotel...sea world is only 3.5 miles away.if you're looking for a great location, ocean park inn would be great. you don't have to cross the street to get to the beach..it's right in front of the hotel. when we first arrived at the hotel , we just didn't like the fact that we couldn't park at the parking structure right away because it was gated. we had to check in first and get our keys to the room. it was hard to find parking. the staff, however, were very friendly and pleasant. our room was small but we liked our partial ocean view room..bed was comfortable. we didn't like the fact that we couldn't order room service because the hotel doesn't have a restaurant. thank God for dominos pizza. we thought the hotel itself needs renovation. paints were chipping off, carpets look old. swimming pool was just okay. but we thought it was too expensive when we were actually there because the only thing good about it was the location. other than that it was just like an old motel. Score 2 out of 5 My review of Ocean Park Inn Anonymous, 2006-11-28 The location of this hotel was excellent; the front desk staff friendly and helpful, but the room was not cleaned well--dirty kleenex still under the bed and used coffee pouch from previous tenant was still in coffee pot. Score 5 out of 5 Great location Kimberly, 2006-11-06 The Ocean Park Inn is in a great location. You are minutes away from many different types of restaurants ranging from fast food to a nice relaxing dinner with a view of the ocean. Also, the hotel rooms include a fridge and a microwave. You can walk about four of five blocks to a Ralphs grocery store and stock up on sodas and snacks. The bus stop is right around the corner from the hotel. The bus will take you to SeaWorld or Old Town for $1.75 each way. The hotel is tucked off the main street so you dont hear any traffic noise. You can walk from your room to the beach in about 3 minutes. It is more of a relaxing; kick-up your feet type hotel. Its not real fancy with a lot of suits running around. Mostly people in shorts, tank tops, and sandals. I would definitely recommend this hotel to someone who wants to relax and let his/her hair down. Score 5 out of 5 Great deal for on the beach Anonymous, 2006-09-01 There is a great Mexican restaurant with the best Margaritas that I have ever had. Across the street from that is an Italian restaurant. There are some fast food restaurants very close.Ocean Park Inn was a well-kept secret. It is hard to find an ocean front hotel that is affordable in the San Diego area. The staff is very helpful and friendly. The room we had was ocean front and had a balcony where we could go out and people watch. It is right on the boardwalk. The rooms are a decent size and have the basics. The next time that we visit we want to get a large suite so that we can take the entire family. Good restaurants, grocery store, drug store, shopping are all within walking distance. The hotel has underground and secured parking which is also sometimes hard to find and usually more expensive. I know that we will be staying in this hotel for many years to come. Score 5 out of 5 Review Anonymous, 2006-05-21 No review provided by user Score 5 out of 5 Beautiful Ocean View Jimmy, Tucson, AZ, 2005-08-21 Green Flash, Joes Crab Shack are close, both very good. This hotel is located directly off the beach, with a gorgeous ocean view from just about every room. It is a great thing to step out of your hotel and walk to the beach in a couple minutes. Some downsides to being so close to the beach are being close to the boardwalk, which can be very noisy. The outside of the hotel is very beautiful, but the rooms are not as impressive. They are pretty basic, but have enough space so its all good. The parking is really good, for $7 a day and always availiable, it is a big upside. The hotel itself is in a fairly good spot in San Diego, it is about 15 minutes to downtown and the zoo, and probably 10 to Sea World. Be sure to avoid rush hour though, it can get insane on Grand Avenue. The biggest downside for us was that the staff wasn't very helpful, but it is easy to look past that with the great value for your money this hotel offers. |
